Fable Terrace Downs Resort

A beautiful remote location, our recent visit to the restaurant was let down by the service. Our party of 10 were told there might be a bit of a wait even though we had booked but we weren’t expecting two hours before entrée came out! We had children who were starving and filled ourselves up on soda drinks and water waiting so by the time we had our main it was a struggle to finish it as we were so full of fluids! Would think a restaurant of this calibre would have their service sorted. We had to ask even for another round of drinks…our table was not attended except for one friendly staff member who tried to do his best under the stretched conditions while we watched other diners come in after us receive their meals. Restaurant was empty by the time we finished mains…over it so no dessert and left. Food was top quality when it did arrive however entire evening was let down by the wait.

We enjoyed a nice lunch, dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast at Terrace Downs. The views and quality of the villa accommodation were all great. Food was excellent. Unfortunately the cleaning crew arrived and we were ushered out an hour early because they wanted to clean the room even though we had a late checkout. I don't expect that when I pay the best part of $1000 for accommodation, food and drinks in 24 hours and for that reason this was a 4 star review.

Had brunch with a view today. The meal was very nice and coffee hot. Must admit my friend and I arrived without a reservation, but when we asked if we could have a meal we were made to think the restaurant was totally booked out and the staff we’re doing us a HUGE favour by “squeezing” us in. As you can see by the photos the restaurant was half empty. If we hadn’t been treated this way I would have given the restaurant 5 stars.

Great location only 1 hour away driving from CHC, very secluded and quite place. Amazing staff at hotel the reception and the restaurant. Rooms were super clean and tidy. Absolutely stunning resort..will come back again soon in winter

What a treat, beautiful Villa, fabulous meals the venison was superb, had extra vegetables to share so fresh and tasty. Staff were truly there for you, would so recommend this as a fabulous place to stay, relax and enjoy the surrounding.We will definitely be back.

So disappointed in the lack of cleanliness of the rooms (over 50 dead flies) and lack of response from reception. Such an amazing location though. The restaurant staff were lovely

We booked a package one night stay and it was awesome! The Villa room was one of the best I have ever booked. A+++. Very spacious living area with enourmous quality kitchen with everything you would want. Nespresso coffee, Gas Hob, Oven, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer, plus Washing Machine & Dryer. We never used the heatpump or fireplace.Each Villa has a great balcony with outstanding views. Superb restaurant & bar. Good breakfast options. Great Wifi and cell-phone coverage. Free parking. Excellent service.

We stayed 3 nights in a villa and it was amazing, the views and relaxing surroundings were just what we needed. Lovely walks near by. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were let down by nothing to watch on tv. They have basic sky and sport, movies would be great, or even have a dvd player with a dvd library in reception would be something! Toilet paper was a bit harsh, and just one towel each for our stay. Shower had some mould and grime in the grout. Restaurant and bar/diner had lovely and very filling meals. Loved the seafood chowder, and chocolate walnut tart.
