-Sunday market from 6am-Noon- $3 parking- Fresh fruit and vegetables at affordable prices $. Best to go around 0730 to avoid foot traffic.- Fresh sea food sold in bulk and by the Kilo prices $-$$- Food stalls around selling Island donuts, Asian food/ cakes coffee $ if no seats are available to sit and eat, walk around to the grand stand plenty of room there- clothes and niknaks are also sold here. Fishing hooks, gardening tools, kitchen knives etc under grand stand.Worth checking out if your up early on sunday.

Huge area, the future of which seems far from certain. One of the biggest empty spaces I have seen in Auckland which is great for walking or running. It had a lone security guard on the entrance when I went there in September 2021. Paths and beautiful long grass. Of course your imperial distance markers are already in place ! Use it while it is still there.
