7am construction directly outside my window. They’re constructing a new building next door. Told staff not to use this room anymore but noise is loud enough to hear throughout the building and outside. Do not recommend staying here.

All sorts of people staying or living here. Each floor has share kitchen,bathroom and lounge. Wifi costs around $16 a week. Not too bad.

What a dive!! This is just yet another subpar hole for Emergency Housing beneficiaries when they have no where else to go! To be fair the restrictions caused by Covid lockdowns has meant these types of businesses have had to adapt and much of the yuckiness that exists there is caused by their customers...mostly single, mental health, addicts and criminal types seem to form a large number of the residents! These all make it more than a little daunting for those few legit types who just want a roof over their head until something more suitable long term becomes available. But come on Zest Ok, each one of those 100s of rooms at over $300 p/wk should allow enough for security staff to keep customers in line!

Really great value. We stayed here for 3 nights this month and had a pleasant stay. We will stay there again. It is a hostel in an older building but was very clean and tidy.Fresh clean bed linen and windows that open for natural air. Friendly and helpful staff. Very easy and convenient location. Easy use of clean, shared kitchen facilities. Shared bathrooms were always very clean. Thanks

I agree with most comments down there really rude receptionist they owe me 700 dollars it's been 3 weeks still haven't got my bond back I moved in only stayed for 1 night as I did not like the environment there werr residents drinking smoking drugs in the motel didn't fee safe wasn't great at all hence I left the next morning I've been trying to call them they know I'm. In tauranga and just keep hanging up on me. Place shouldn't even be open cause its. Unhygienic too

Currently used for Emergency Housing. Fire alarms go off almost every day, a large number of beneficiaries living here gather at the corner of Grafton Road and Park Road EVERY DAY from around midday (sometimes early morning) to drink, vandalize property, swear at passers-by and generally create a neighborhood atmosphere akin to some of the worst ghettos in the world. Police visit every other day, if not the fire brigade to silence another fire alarm at Zest. Truly the worst neighbors anyone could have. Many of the people living here should simply not be in the general community and should be housed in a proper mental health treatment facility or alcohol rehabilitation facility.

This is an amazing hostel.Even if it's not in the CBD it's near to the most popular sightseeing points in Auckland.You have great private rooms with partly really great view.Also there are not such expensive Laundry and great small kitchen areas.As an last important point you also have friendly and helpful stuff (for example Basil, he helped us a few times).So all in all it's for the price you pay maybe the best hostel in Auckland

I am currently staying here during lockdown and have been a few weeks previous. This is one of the worst places I have stayed in. Here's why.1. My food has been stolen 3 times worth over $100. They were labeled and tied up and still got stolen. The freezer then had a padlock installed but was ripped off, so now I can no longer use the freezer. I was offered reimbursement but that was 5 weeks ago, still nothing2. Guests from other floors are aloud to roam freely to other floors therefore security is an issue and the police have been called several times as drug dealers have been operating here. Bonus - there is no CCTV here.3. We have had our WiFi privilege taken of us. Saying we have to pay for it now when originally I was sold that it was included in our rent. WiFi is literally the only thing keeping me going right now.Im honestly never normally one to complain however this place has upset me and angered me so much I can only urge people to avoid if possible. Hope this helps

This place is infested with terrible people who provide an unsafe and disconcerting environment. It's not unlikely that you will find drug users, dealers and addicts here. This is not a safe or comfortable hostel for families, couples or individuals who value decency, respect and privacy. Please do not stay here, PLEASE - do yourself a favour and spend a few extra dollars on somewhere a bit more pleasant. This place is, in my opinion, the pits and not worth your money. I have heard regular complaints from businesses nearby who dread the residents of this hostel, saying that they regularly loiter around the area swearing, being rude and doing drugs. Stay away.

Walking past reception this morning only to find another unhappy resident, unsatisfied with the service being provided by the receptionist - Monica.The resident has approached the receptionist to ask for the use of a vacuum cleaner, to clean her room before checking out. Her complaint is that the receptionist is totally ignoring the resident, without even acknowledging her or even speaking to her.The resident has said to me in passing that this receptionist is absolutely rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. She is also severely ignorant, uncultured and uncivilized, which contributes to her disgusting manners and unprofessional behavior.An hour earlier, a male resident asked Monica for the use of the hotel phone to contact family members,, to inform them he is ready to be picked up for xmas. By denying this resident the use of the hotel phone, Monica has outright ruined this man's opportunity to spend xmas with his family.This person clearly has no concept of customer service or hospitality, and how she is employed as a receptionist with no people skills is beyond me.Monica conducts herself as an immature, entitled and over privileged child, who doesn't realize that her job is subject to investigation by laws and unions that prevent unprofessional and rude behavior by employees.I'm confident these Unions and law makers would be extremely interested in investigating Monica's disgusting behavior. More so why Monica has remained employed with this hotel, despite many frequent complaints from several disgruntled tenants about Monica's rotten attitude and disgustingly rude and unprofessional behavior.
