Cool little place we were there on a cold winters morning and they had the fire going, the decor is quirky and intimate, the eggs benedict was one of the best I've had, definitely recommend.

Review update 2023, Easter Sunday...Sad that the gift shop has gone. Had always been a favourite, with many cool gifts bought.Anyhow, times have changed.This place still has what we remember, great delicious food & atmosphere.Enjoyed the Rēwena French Toast. The Eggs Benedict looked yum (Husband enjoyed that).There was plenty of seating for us to choose, tables in garden in the sun, shade or a private table around in the covered potted garden and wee fernery.Look forward to coming back in the future and after parkrun on Saturday morning in coming months.Nice that it's dog friendly too.Highly recommended!!Review from 4 years ago... A wonderful place to relax, take in the tranquility of the cottage garden & wild bird life. We enjoyed watching young Tui birds feeding in the gardens edge while we sipped our delicious coffee & ate. A small vegan menu offering, but the food is beautifully crafted and presented. The vegan caramel slice was amazing, the best I have ever tasted if I'm honest. The corn fritters were super tasty. A fantastic cafe and gift shop full of unique & quirky present options. Off road parking available too.A wonderful place to help you relax and escape the busy world outside.

Disappointed. Menu after midday is limited. One at our table had large pieces of eggshell in her Eggs Benedict. Food was average. Nice garden area.

Love coming here for lunch! Great food and coffee! The eggs bene with bacon was devine! Beautiful yellow eggs!Really appreciate being able to take my dog too!Gorgeous wee second hand store with limited hours but totally worth a look! Think it's open Friday to Sunday 10am till 2pm. Lovely owner!

Shocking! The place was was not even busy and we had to wait more than half an hour for the kids pancakes ( two pancakes per plate with some icing sugar)and a toastie( sandwich bread with cheese). Three staff members came to bring the coffees and none of them cleared the table of dishes left by previous customers.When asked politely to the third staff member , she rolled her eyes and cleared half of the dishes, left and never came back for the rest. One of my friends waited for 45 minutes for his cabinet food to be heated and brought to the table. It came without cutlery, there was none on the table but the staff member left without apologising for the delay and without realising the lack of cutlery. We had to get up and get some . There was only one member of staff interested in doing her job properly . Overall a terrible experience. Never again!

Nice garden setting but the service was very disappointing. The table had not been cleared or cleaned and despite two people bringing coffee to the table they didn’t clear the plates from the previous people. I asked politely for the table to be cleared and the waitress seemed annoyed that I had asked and did not return to finish clearing it. I had to ask another waitress who was far more pleasant. The food was average (bacon over cooked) and took more than 40 minutes to come out and they forgot my husbands meal. We won’t be returning

This lovely cafe services up wonderful brunch’s and good coffee too. Lots of inside seating and beautiful outdoor seating in the gardens on a good day. Wheelchair and stroller accessible with off street parking. Friendly staff too. Perfect!!
