I've been here twice now and the team is always friendly and nothing is a problem. Got a new battery this day and it was changed over in a matter of minutes. There were about 5 other customers that arrived around the same time. Well oiled machine. Great service, great prices too! Thanks

Dropped in with a red night showing on monitor for leisure battery. 15 minute wait only. All batteries checked by Shannon which involved removing passenger seat to check leisure batteries. Clear explanation throughout of what and why he was doing tests. Result after 1.5 hours was batteries fine. Came back to pay next morning with a box of custard Squares and no charge. Kyle very reassuring that if any problems as we continue our journey, that Newlands have contact businesses who will help. Great service. Highly recommend.

Very disappointed experience. We were on our road trip and our car tyre pressure indicator popped up. We checked our tyre pressure at a petrol station and it was fine and we just needed to reset the indicator. Because I don't know how to reset the indicator as I'm not a car person or technician. A person at the petrol station recommended here to ask a technician to reset the indicator. I did arrive here, and asked the reception if someone can help me reset the indicator, however they did not solve the problem and charged me $95. They used a iPad diagnostic tool and told me it's the car sensor problem and couldn't be reset and I had to go to a tyre shop and get a new sensor. This warning indicator has popped up before and when I've asked a technician to reset it for me, other places was free but this place charged me $95 for a problem they didn't solve. They did not tell me about using a diagnostic tool that is very costly, because other places just reset it for you for free. I was very disappointed. So in the end I had to pay the $95 and the warning indicator was still on. I ended up googling how to reset the indicator and it was super easy to reset, now the indicator is off. I'm so disappointed for this place, they didn't tell me they were going to do a diagnostic check that would incur a high cost, what a waste of money. I suppose they know you're a tourist and a young female and they'll just take advantage of you because you're just vulnerable to them and you can do nothing about it. Such an unfriendly place for tourists, I guess all the high ratings are local exclusives. If you're a tourist please don't come to this place. Places like this, you need to ask the prices first, otherwise they'll do all the unnecessary checks and charge you a lot of money. I want to request a refund because they didn't solve my initial problem and I ended up googling and fixing the problem myself.

Customer service went above and beyond and the battery was 20% cheaper than anywhere else I priced. My vehicle had the wrong battery and the wrong terminals but I left here with the right battery, every where else wanted to sell me the battery the computer told them my vehicle should have.

I’ve used Newlands Timaru on a couple of occasions now, most recently for weird electrical issues in my vehicle. Even though busy, they managed to get my car sorted in less than 48 hours.Highly recommended
