Great food, lovely service, but totally lacking in ambience/vibe. Guys, just play a little music at a reasonable volume, to avoid all of us listening to every tables conversations amid the deafening silence. It's like being trapped in a bygone era. If you can sort that, it's a great place to eat. Look forward to coming back and seeing this small improvement.

Great casual restaurant! Serves simple homely food with great seafood, the scallops were seared so well and the 1kg mussels was amazing with sooo much white wine sauce, I was so stuffed! Cheesecake was creamy and not baked (just as I like it) and the whole meal came out in great time. The service was fantastic!

Loved their buffet breakfast! Delicious range of dinner options too! It's definitely worth a visit for any meal of the day. Must try their $15 lunch specials sometime soon!

Awesome atmosphere at the Drift Cafe! Gold stars from the wahine waitress that had served me the last couple of nights. She always checked in with my meal and had a lovely vibe.Hot food, timely manner and ability to take doggy bag home (meals substantial but too large on personal opinion)No fault. Will be back!!

Love dining at drift, food always hot and delicious. Today a young woman served us very friendly and did well despite the rowdy just dropped in crowd of 20 people making extra demands for service. The guy at the front desk took our orders, apologized for the noise and delay. All in all excellent service and food and under the circumstances the atmosphere was fine. Will return.

Great place to fed a mob or dine in for two. All you can it an drink hard to beat. Spent time with family we all had a great breakfast meal experience watched many other families an couples enjoy the atmosphere. The food must of been good because we keep running the bay Maries out of food an they kept filling them up with not to long to wait.So I do recommend give it a go

Here from out of town, went to dinner here as we stayed at the hotel attached. Was super convenient to just have to go downstairs.The staff were attentive and friendly.To start we had the salt and pepper squid it was OK over cooked which was a shame, I had the pork belly and my fiance had the beast burger the pork belly was nice, the jus was a bit salty and quite dark to be paired with pork. Could have used some apple to go with. The crackling was only half crackling the rest was chewy.My fiances beast burger was a cool experience as he had never seen a burger with the cheese sauce like that ever before, was a really awesome concept. He did say they could have just left off the sliced cheese and just had the cheese sauce as the cheese slices weren't melted and it could have done without.Alright meal super convenient to our hotel of course. the atmosphere is not really there it had other diners but so quite felt like we had to whisper. Very airy and big open space not cosy.Unfortunately we probably won't visit again.

Amazing food great service all round 5 star. Steak was beautifully cooked, the lamb shanks were falling off the bone compliments to the chef amazing. Very clean good for the date me and my partner had.
