Fosbender Park

Fantastic place to run dogs off the lead. Enough other dogs around for socialising and even a pond where they can swim. Poo bags and bin so no excuse dog walkers!

New stairs have made this great Oasis an even better walking track. Great native flora

Had lunch there. Park is a bit old but still well maintained and there is a track to walk as well. River access by the rowing club.

Great place for the family a good playground, also a nice hike on kilmock track.

Killmont bush walk is great, like how ya can go dog sledding there, quite the adventure finding old trails around there

Great reserve area unfortunately bthe Council has been cutting trees down otherwise great family area

Fosbender Park is part of the Sandy Point Domain area. It has an excellent little short walking track Kilmock Bush Short Walking Track". Not far from town with easy access and close parking. Dogs are allowed on a leash and the council provides Doggy poop bags at the start of the track. The track is very easy walking. Gym shoes are fine.The Jelicoe Sea Scouts also operate out of this domain and are located beside the river. There are toilet facilities at the start of the track and in the Domain itself. There is also Play equipment for the kids in the centre of the park. (A little old & agricultural but sturdy). Good Picnic areas.Camping is not allowed."

This is a Lovely place to take your children. There are picnic areas, and a little playground. The playground does look a bit old and rundown though. Go for a little walk around the field areas and you will find some picnic tables. The walk itself is a nice and easy walk, not very uphill and has options for stairs or you could opt out and walk on the side (on the flat). The walk is good for children, lots of people who do runs on this walk too but i wouldnt suggest this track for a decent workout unless you went around it again. Sometimes there are teenagers who park there cars in a seperate carpark just a turn off the main driveway but this is far away nevertheless so no issues. Pretty nice plave

A good place to walk the dogs but not on Sunday mornings because that is when the Southland Sled Dog Club use the area for racing.
