A great Teppanyaki experience. Delicious food, excellent chef, and lovely staff in a cosy setting. Also, not too expensive. Highly recommend. Will happily return for more fiery fun!

Went with a group of 8 for end of year meal. We all had a great time awesome food and friendly service, some of our group hadn't been to teppanyaki before so great new experience

This is a second time I try a Teppanyaki in NZ... The place has a good view on the second floor and is compact with small space. The staff are friendly and with good manners the English is a bit basic which can lead to some uncertainty but nothing major.My advice is to let the chef know that you prefer to leave it up to you to handle the salt from your table as sometimes the food can be on the salty side especially having the soya sauce added as a garnish to the food. In general it's still a good place to enjoy in Kaiapoi and there's room for improvement.

Teppanyaki Takao is outstanding. Parking is plentiful. The staff are super friendly and fun. The booking I made was for 8 people and we sat around the teppanyaki bar with ease. Its a very social way to dine and lots of fun. The menu offers a variety of set menu options. They are extremely well priced. Our chef was cool. He catered to our different preferences and kept the food coming. The salmon and seafood were my favourite but also the chicken and beef were great. The bar is well stocked. The warm saki was great and the 3xvariety of cold saki was excellent. Im definitely returning here because we werecso well looked after and so our dinner party was a huge success.
