The Lookout Lodge

My partner and I got married here in April 2023. It was truly fantastic. Nancy was a brilliant host - communicative, flexible, efficient, and friendly. The venue itself is stunning and perfect for a wedding. We returned to stay the next day as well. Nancy could not have been more accommodating, this is a perfect venue.

We booked two nights for our winter wedding and it was perfect. The lodge was warm, there were so many amenities with a wonderful large kitchen, the space outside was large and so great for socialising. And the view! The feel of the space was just what we wanted and Nancy was helpful and accommodating. So happy we had this for our venue.Katie & Cullum

We recently had a small wedding at The Lookout Lodge, we were in awe of the picturesque views. It was our first time visiting Wanaka and it is the most beautiful location for a wedding and/or holiday getaway. Nancy, our host was very kind and helpful. We highly recommend!

Our stay was for a big group, and this lodge was absolutely perfect. Our host Nancy was delightful and had everything ready before we arrived. Perfect spot amidst the hills, and so clean and warm with a lot of space to move around in.

We had an amazing wedding at the lookout lodge. The venue was perfect and thank you Nancy for being so helpful throughout the planning process with any questions we had. Was great having all the tables/chairs and extras provided and everyone loved the outdoor areas.

We recently had our wedding at The Lookout Lodge. The venue was absolutely amazing and Nancy made all of the planning so easy and stress free! Nancy was so quick to respond to all of our emails in the lead up to the wedding, and nothing was too much trouble. We really appreciated all the effort she went to in making sure everything was ready for our special day. All of our guests loved the venue and it was perfect for our day. We would highly recommend The Lookout Lodge to anyone looking for a wedding venue in Wanaka!

We booked the lookout lodge for a wedding, and everything was perfect. We had a room downstairs for grandma to retire to without the pesky staircase to climb, an ample number of guests for those overnighting, and the site itself was beautiful and the essence of the South Island. Nancy was fantastic to work with, and I’d recommend the lookout lodge without hesitation and would love to come back at some point in the future. Thanks again!

Great views, but the hospitality is slacking. Owners are extremely nosey and consistently entered the rented out property, Starting at 7am and ending around 9pm. A total of 5 times. During the wedding she turned OFF lights, heaters and closed windows during a wedding. One of the owners stood in while wedding speeches were on while she was dressed in gum boots and a hoodie. Unfortunately she’ll be in the wedding photos. Extremely unprofessional.A non aggressive private conversation was had with the owner the night of the wedding asking her to give us our space. The next morning the husband/ owner was very aggressive the next morning infront of the bride and groom and kept repeating “we’re the owners. We can do what we want.”Nice place, but if you want privacy for the price, this is not the place.
