Absolute legends, dropped in to get a hand removing a pedal for pack down to fly, and no issues getting that done for me. Really lovely looking shop, welcoming staff. Will definitely be back!!

I took my bike to this guys to do a premium tune full suspension service! The job was well done… but the offer in their website is $245 for the service and they charged me $967 without my previous approval or even inform me about the cost… my bike is a 6yo bike and is not worth it to spend $967 in a service. I sent an complaint by email and they even did not reply… i won’t use this guys anymore! This is what I call get robbed!

I ordered a bike for my wife from Japan, arranged to receive it when we arrive at Christchurch to enjoy New Zealand mountain bike experience. Had an issue with the courier but Rufus and Rohan made huge effort to made it possible! The bike works perfectory and she really enjoy it. I highly recommend Back Alley Bikes. Wish this shop is in my town! Thank you!!

If there's a place in Christchurch to get your dream bike built this is it.I've been back in there a number of times after buying my bike for upgrades, repairs, servicing and have found them really good to deal with.In a number of situations Rufus and the boys have gone well and truly above expectations and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing servicing or a new bike.Cheers

There's a reason this shop only has excellent reviews. The owner Rufus is friendly, knowledgeable, and very experienced, especially when it comes to any kind of hydraulic servicing or wheel building. Rufus just built some wheels for me and did a great job. Highly recommended.

Not hard to see why Back Alley Bikes has only 5 star reviews. Helpful and accommodating both over the phone and in person. They really helped me out of a bind today. I had ordered a tire from somewhere else but this hasn't arrived 2 weeks later, leaving me unable to use my bike for my daily commute. I took in my bike after 4pm and they had sorted a tire, new tube and replaced it before 5pm. What a relief. Very happy to return and recommend for anyone needing prompt, professional, reasonably priced and friendly service with their own bike.

I love taking my road bike to Back Alley Bikes. Rufus and his team are super friendly, really thorough, and my bike always feels 100% after getting it serviced here. Well worth the wait when you have to book in advance.
