I got an email telling me an online order had been cancelled, but that I could go into a store and get a similar product. The team at Briscoes Taranaki Street made this an incredibly easy process and kept the price as close to the original product as possible, which was impressive considering I ended up with a much newer model! Reasonable service and prices. Go during a large discount sale and you can get many things at half price. Large store for such a central location.

Ravaged and under-stocked shelves, but it was late in the day on a Sunday, so I guess the rabid weekend shoppers utilising the effective and pleasing sales discounts are really the ones to blame

I recently moved out to a new place and needed pretty much everything a home could ever need - towels, sheets, kitchen tools, pots, rugs... The list can go on and on but the point is that it was all in Briscoes and it was very convenient to get all the necessary things from one place.Only thing I see few items are over priced than Harvey Norman and Kmart.

The biggest problem with Briscoes is A) the old hag they've got as their little mascot, who I can only assume is 1 of the owners as no one with sense would WANT her plastered all over their buildings. And B) they're a rip off. The reason they ALWAYS have sales" is because they know they're a rip off and their "sales" are just to bring the prices back down out of the stratosphere back to their normal price. Briscoes wouldn't know a sale if it walked up to them with a shirt that said sale on it and slapped them over the head with sale fish."

I am grateful that Briscoes exists. I wish that I didn't have to wait for sales in order to shop here because prices are completely unreasonable unless they are 40%+ reduced. The good news is that they have a lot of sales, likely because they already know their prices are unreasonable.
