About the Business
Bushy Point | Take a self-guided walk (1 hour return) through the Bushy Point Restoration Site to a pond and wetland area, or take a shorter walk (20 minutes return) to a viewpoint. This community project aims to transform grazing land into native forest and wetland habitat, and is an ongoing restoration project. This is a marked grass trail on Department of Conservation land and is managed by the Otatara Landcare Group.

What a great little walk. Still a work in progress but plenty going on to keep you interested. Some great views over to Invercargill. Some of the new bush areas have grown over to form some interesting arched areas which are great for photos. Plenty of birdlife to see. It does back onto quite a few private sections so watch you dont go onto any ones private property. Was OK for some basic footwear but you would need something decent after some rain, as much of the track is just on open meadow.

Get back to nature here and enjoy the planting that has been happening. Some areas planted are quite established, others are newly planted. Several walks are signposted
