Snow Denn Lodge

Really enjoyed our stay at Snow Denn Lodge. Room was bigger than I expected for a twin room. Room and shared bathroom were both very clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable and appreciated having two different types of pillows to choose from. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when I'm in Methven next. Great spot with a short drive to the mountain – lets you get an extra hour of sleep compared to staying in central Christchurch.

We stayed at Snow Denn Lodge to attend a wedding. Our family had booked out all rooms and amenities in one of the buildings. We had fun all being under the one roof which really added a fabulous dimension.The rooms were welcoming, bright, clean and warm, as were the shared kitchen/dining room and upstairs lounge. For those rooms without ensuites, the shared shower/toilet amenities were clean and adequate. All is well cared for.The location is in the heart of Methven with a supermarket and cafes/pubs only a short walk away. It was perfect for our weekend away together in Methven. Snow Denn upholds well the values of an alpine lodge. Highly recommended. Thank you Laura & Tim.

Great stay for budget friendly place! Excellent location near ski bus and grocery store, bars and ski rental place. Laura and her husband are very helpful and friendly, which makes for a nice atmosphere and you feel well taken care of. The beds were comfy, everything was spotless, great common area with comfy chairs, games and a guitar to hangout if the mtn is closed.

An noisy room which is next to the kitchen and dinning. Crazy laughing voice all the time during night time.I wish she is one of the guests. 10 nights long stay was good enough to know every service person there. Hope will get a better room for the next booking.

We loved our stay here! Such a cosy, clean, affordable lodge in the heart of town. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Awesome common area with lounge suites, games, guitar, tv, DVDs, Chromecast.. also a great kitchen with everything you need! Staff were also so lovely. We felt very welcomed. Would definitely stay again. Thanks so much!

We booked a room online and checked in on the day. It wasn't too difficult since we did come within operating hours of the reception. The lodge has a large kitchen and dining area as well as a loft upstairs for games and other entertainment. there was also a drying room under the stairs and a shed by the carpark for skis and boards.The location is quite nice since it was a bit away from the main road so it wasn't particularly busy but the carpark was quite full. It was easy enough to walk around Methven from the lodge.The rooms were cosy and tidy, as were the bathrooms. Even though it seemed to be full, it was really quiet, which was nice.There are multiple entrances which require the key fob to enter after hours. There is an intercom as well for communication as well as a mobile number in case of emergencies. We did end up using it to be let back in after leaving the key in the room while packing the car the following day.

We got the full bed with an extra bed room in the backpackers house and it was exactly what we needed. Bathrooms and common room is really nice, staff seem super friendly and has a really nice atmosphere. They make everyone quiet at 9:30am which is super nice and we were able to sleep!

Great budget accomodation. Really friendly local owners, keeping the place clean and friendly.Bed was a bit firm, and unfortunately the most annoying bit was the other inconsiderate people in the lodge being nosy early in the morning and late at night. But overall, great facilities for the price, and nice to have a kitchen to make some food and keep costs down. Great location and tight in the middle of methven.
