One of the most beautiful harbors to be seen from this wharf, fishing allowed but you must give way to any fishing boats wanting to tie up at the wharf.

I could never tire of Leigh. It's one of my favourite places in the World. I adore the magical stingrays that visit, and it's absolutely great for kayaking.

Good old Leigh I lived in Leigh for 4-6 years when I was younger and always fished down at the wharf great fishing for herrons and squid at night also I know they aren’t around anymore but some of the fisherman that would take us out fishing was great might have to visit the old town for a holiday hopefully some of the same locals are still there from back in the day

The wharf and boat launch in Leigh is really pretty. During low tide you can walk far on the rocks.Getting there is a bit trepidatious. When you turn off the main road, you enter a very steep, very narrow winding one lane road. Downward traffic have right of way. It's very bendy, so you can't see oncoming traffic. If you meet another car while going down, they have to reverse out. The boat launch is also at a sharp angle next to this narrow winding road. It's a very pretty place, but definitely for seasoned drivers and boaties

Nice to visit on a bright warm sunny day. They run fishing charters out of here. Also commercial fishing gear boats.Pretty with coastal walks with amazing views in vicinity.

Whilst the wharf isn't the most picturesque it does make a nice drive from Auckland and the nearby township has great wee cafe serving really good coffee
