90 Mile Beach
It's a really long beach. Lovely white sand.

90 Mile Beach
Nice place, just a stretch of beach and a few small dunes. Not a ton of parking on compact sand. The road in is gravel, but all good for normal cars and vans, no dramas.

90 Mile Beach
One of the best beach in North island. Very good place for long driving experience on the coastal line.

90 Mile Beach
I would have liked to see a whole lot of this Beach. But not convinced that if I set out from one spot, I could find the exit at the next one, miles down the shore. Also, they are a bit intimidating about the prospects for getting stuck our even washed out to sea. No doubt, this is appropriate, but it leaves you standing on the front porch of this massive beach, not actually enjoying it.

90 Mile Beach
Traveling by myself to visit Cape Reinga, I suddenly realised I had not actually seen 90 Mile Beach so grabbed the turn-off when I saw it (I only ever saw two signposts for the beach). The gravel road was wide and led through a forestry area with obvious signs of wild horses (pony poo on the road!). A carpark on firm sand was welcomed as I did not wish to drive on the Beach itself. The wind was horrific and the sand stung my legs badly, but looking along the long beach in either direction and not being able to see any end was well worth it. (Visited 23 November 2019)
