Wow, what a fantastic meal. We brought our 4yo… the waitress was really friendly to her and helped pick some kid-appropriate dishes. Everything we ate was excellent. We selected a variety of noodles and other dishes of varying spice levels. The spiciest is definitely pretty darn spicy, but tolerable if you’re used to it. Highly recommend the Dan Dan noodles with pork.

I had my doubts about this place after going through some pics and comments, but the food we ordered turned out great! Tasty and authentic. But sure they can use some work with their service. The staff did seem a little impatient and bossy, which didn’t bother us too much, just something they can work on.

Ive been wanting to come here for so long, so glad i finally made it, miss peppercorn did not disappoint!! Such a nice cozy atmosphere, very welcoming and quick service. Food was beautiful, absolutely loved the Cucumber salad could literally add the sauce to anything and be totally satisfied. Everything was made with love, can't wait to come back and try more menu items!!

When a restaurant is new, the owners give great food and great customer service. When they become famous and customers line up for a table, all these basics become secondary, money making is the prime focus. Food taste and quality has suffered, portions reduced, and in the expensive prawn fried rice, I could not find a single whole prawn. Looked like each prawn has been broken into 3 pieces. Essentially I paid $19 for a vegetarian fried rice. There are far better restaurants in Christchurch.

The Biang biang noodles are a must try, though the Dandan noodles was slightly salty for me. Glad that I have a chance to visit this place.

Excellent Sichuan food here - was slightly surprised to find it! Noodles and all vegetable dishes were excellent and as good as I’m had anywhere worldwide for Sichuanese cuisine. Beer is also a reasonable price which is helpful when you’re all spiced up! Friendly and helpful staff too, and you can choose your spice level.

The atmosphere and service was very good. Most of the dishes were nice specially the spicy food that we liked them. There is only one disadvantage was that the dishes were little bit salty.

Re: Omg, your reply just confirmed how horrible your service is! We were a big table that day, about 10 people, we NEVER left the kid unattended and the kid is 8 years old, he DID NOT break the plate on purpose, your blame on a KID over a PLATE is just unbelievable, unbelievable, unbelievable!!!——————original comment left one week ago:The kid accidentally broke the plate, sharp pieces fell over the floor, and there were other kids sitting there, the first thing the duty manager (supposed she was, worked mainly at the cashier and seems to be some kind of leader) said was: “did the kid do it on purpose?!” and she looks pretty upset!!Come on, be human, shouldn’t you worry about customers safety first?? And ask yourself, how much is a plate worth, will never come back to this place for this service, and will also tell all our friends to not come. We waited an hour for our dishes and there’re only 2 people serving the whole cramped restaurant, but we were totally happy with that, it was the “duty manager”’s behavior crossed the line. And to be honest, the food is not really good/authentic, Sichuan style is famous for its 4 tastes: numbing spicy, hot spicy, umami, aromatic (麻辣鲜香), here for the main dishes you can only get numbing spicy and hot spicy, so basically it’s spicy only. And if you have had authentic Sichuan cuisine or any Chinese cuisine you would know you would never have potato chips in your satay dishes, like never. Please help yourself and try some other Sichuan food in CHCH, I’m not saying they’re excellent, at least they’re not this ridiculous.*the photo was taken by other people, it’s nearly impossible to order intestine in this restaurant

Great szechuan food, hits the spot for chinese food cravings. You can choose the spiciness level so its great for those who can’t take spice.Affordable with decent portions. Noodles cooked perfectly.Parking can be difficult to find as it gets busy during dinner time.
