Avis Greymouth Railway Station

Arrived with the TranzRail from Christchurch. It was a zoo. Car we originally received had a rattle in the dash. Upon returning through Greymouth, we stopped by and switched cars. The staff was so helpful. They handled our concerns in a friendly, polite fashion, although there were limited options, being a small agency where cars are all rented out. We ended up with a hatchback version of our Corolla sedan. It was newer, drove tighter and no squeaks. Hail to the staff at this agency.

We picked up a hire car from this location on 31 Jan and had to wait for just over an hour to finally reach the counter, where a hard working young lady was doing her best to process the numerous clients in front of us. A second person appeared after 1 hr of waiting and saved us perhaps 10 mins by serving us concurrently. Avis likely knew that there would be a number of customers who had booked cars to pick up from Greymouth, yet only one customer service person! Not good enough Avis. And your processes are interminably long - approx 10 mins per customer. You could send every customer the paper warfare to sign ahead of pick up so we can just pick up the carkeys and get on with our holiday instead of enjoying the ambience of your queue!
