Whanganui Seaside Holiday Park

Very clean, tidy and well kept camp ground. Unfortunately the location let's it down a little.On a busy intersection and under the flight path to the airport.A plus is the proximity to the beach ... just a stroll up the road!We enjoyed our stay, but I dont think we will rush back.

Quite noisy but not the campsite, some of the locals. Really good toilets. Clean. We were in a powered site and didn't use the kitchen or anything.

Nice place. Close to an awesome black sand beach and great kids playground .Owners are excellent, helpful chatted away with the young lady on desk.Good facilities. Pool for summer, cafe close by. We had a camper so just had a powered sight.

Smashed it out of the park again ! . My go to place every time I'm staying in Whanganui . Had a lovely unit this time with my 89 year old Mum . She was chuffed .A well looked after Campground at very reasonable prices .

Renovated toilets, close to the beach, in general clean and well maintained. However no power outlets in toilet building and only non drinking water for campers. Finally very poor Wi-Fi. Beware!

If you are looking for Miss Trunchball style of service then this is the campground for you! On checking in we were met by a lady drinking and was made to fell like I was in a principals office. I couldn't remember if I had paid or not as my booking was made 6 months earlier- an answer, not a telling off was required. Two hours later I was again required to go the 'principals office'. I was cooking dinner and was told it couldn't wait as they were due to close. This was not nesscarey as I had already paid $420 and was therefore unlikely to run. A fortnight before I arranged by email for another child to be added. A tent beside us was suggested and despite asking for a price none was given. In the hostile 'principles office'  $181 had to be paid immediately for the extra child. This was excessive. At this price we would have made other arrangements.Another evening, I was abruptly told I needed to clean the bbq while talking at distance to another couple using it.We selected the campground based on the Sauna. This is incorrectly listed as a facility on their Webpage, rather than below under 'Hire Item'. We saw no one use it as a result of this undisclosed cost.I sent two emails while staying to resolve, but my questions were not answered.Experience was completely ruined by this staff member. The next place we stayed was Timaru Top 10. Amazing place! Amazing staff! What a contrast.

Well done WSHP, what a transformation. The park and amenities have that quintessential kiwi camp ground vibe. We just loved it. Made all the better with the amazing staff, from the welcome to the goodbyes

You can tell they really care for the property. As a guest who has stayed in a lot of holiday parks it really makes a difference. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The manager was really friendly. We will definitely be back :)
