Thank you for a wonderful stay. Extremely peaceful room overlooking native bush. The staff were lovely and amazing service. Delicious food. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone planning a trip to Franz. Look forward to coming back in future!

What a wonderful experience! From the moment my wife and I walked in, we were treated like royalty. The staff was so accommodating, and the room was lovely. Don't miss having dinner in the restaurant. It is special.

The hotel itself is stunning, and so is the service and food at the restaurant. It was, however, disappointing to see ashtray on the balcony. There was a smoker staying a couple of rooms down the hall and the smelled travelled into the room where I was staying. And of course enjoying the fresh air on the balcony isn't an option if you find the smell of cigarettes off putting. Disappointing really when staying at the hotel implied being close to nature with a beautiful view. Please review your smoking policy for the balconies

Just had a one night stay at this absolutely amazing hotel. The welcome and service we received from the front of house staff was nothing short of first class, the room was spotless, the bed was fantastic and then on top of that the meal was incredibly good. I highly recommend this hotel to you. Ahh, the serenity….wished we could have stayed longer.

Probably the best hotel in Franz Josef. The location is superb and the rooms are beautifully furnished. The place simply oozes quality. Breakfast was also suitably impressive. Why 4 stars? Being picky, I have to say the rooms are rather dark, which can be a pain when you are trying to unpack/pack a suitcase at night (and they have ashtrays on the balconies, allowing you the luxury of secondhand cigarette smoke).

Such a beautiful hotel, decor is very modern yet suits the surroundings! The bed was the best night sleep we have ever had in a hotel. Didn’t want to leave. The staff are very hospitable, nothing was too much trouble. Asset to your company. Thank you for everything. We will definitely be back. Would love to know where you get your beds and linen from!!

Fantastic resort. Very new and well kept-up. Service excellent. Even the bathroom floor comes with heater underneath. Smart system - when room and windows open, aircon is off. When close, aircon/heater automatically turns on.

Love this hotel, it is centrally located and offers a 5 star service. The concierge helped us to our room and happily answered any questions we had. The room has everything to offer and the concierge were extremely helpful.We also ate dinner and breakfast here which was delicious.

Each dish surpassed our expectations in terms of taste and presentation. It was evident that the culinary team had put great care and attention to detail into their creations. The flavors were exquisite, and we found ourselves savoring every bite.One aspect that truly stood out was the impeccable service by the dining staff. They were both professional and attentive, ensuring we had an exceptional dining experience. Their friendliness and genuine manners added an extra touch of hospitality, making us feel truly valued as guests.Our only regret was not being able to stay longer. We left with a sense of longing, already dreaming of the day we could return and extend our stay. Te Waonui Forest Retreat is a fabulous place to stay. The room was a surprise. Very spacious and comfortable. Walk in shower. I loved it and wish I could of stayed longer. The staff were wonderful. I was there for 1 night and the evening meal was the best I had on my trip. Breakfast buffet was also great with plenty of choice.
