Thoroughly enjoyed the sanctuary, the staff were very helpful, friendly and informative. It was great to see some Kiwi's up close. Thanks for a great experience, will be back soon.

Otorohanga is a clean, pretty little town. The cafe's have good fresh food, great coffee all reasonably priced. The public toilets are clean and the town folk Friendly

Interesting. Quite well put together. As an Aussie, I disagree with some of the claimed stuff. In particular, the pavlova. They are scarcer than white kiwi in NZ bakeries, you know..

I made a special trip to the museum in the late afternoon after they printed an article in the local paper and wow what a trip back in time. The caretaker was so knowledgeable about the area. After spending about a half hour with her, she only showed me a couple rooms full of nostalgia and memorabilia, I was starting to feel like she was wasting her time on little ol me. She was just totally focused on giving me a great tour. You can also pickup and handle some items in there, making this place pretty unique. Another thing that stood out was the fact that, although they have soooo much stuff in there it is very well kept. I highly recommend a visit here. It's free or a donation which is great. I'm definitely going back, making a family trip of it next time. Probably a couple times as there is so much to see.

We pass through here quite often, my children love the playground on the main street, so we have often used this place to stop and get something to eat and have a browse at the shops as a break on our road trips. There are some nice shops that I would like to shop at if I didn't live so far away. The playground is set out well and can give hours of fun for children

Such a quirky town with all the kiwi icons. I drove through Otorohanga on a rainy day in the winter with a car load of stuff and stopped at McDonalds for lunch, then across the road I saw the cute Kiwiana mural with the Buzzy Bee and other icons.
