Lived here in Rangiora 3 years ago and have come back for a weeks holiday.I live in Auckland. If I had the money I'd move down here.Rangiora is so beautiful, so clean, even the public toilets are clean and smell so nice lol.I can't speek highly enough. The people are so friendly.I adore Rangiora. Hope it never changes.

Unless you are Exclusive Brethren, don't expect to have anything done in a reasonable time regarding consents, complaints ect, or to even be taken seriously. Massive conflict of interest present. I'm sure there are some good people here, but a select few letting them down big time.

It's criminal what this council have done with regards to that couple's home. That's there home. The decision-makers should be disgusted with themselves.

After submitting a complaint to WDC about bin collection and the petty bin collection driver which is unable to use common sense. I get a response from the customer service that is the way it is with all the reasons and excuses. I could have expected no customer service or common sense from WDC.

Horrific. We live in Pegasus Town, and this Council are quite happy to let dangerous dog breeds roam the streets and lake, to the point people have been bitten, (twice) and actually fearful. In aproaching them about it, they apparently bought up a technicality that it was the developers problem.Ontop of that, they have let a local builder errect 60M, 6ft high billboards around his sections all over the lake and Mappleham with absolutely zero intention on building for the next 10years. One of those has been there 18months already and he has build a permanent shed on there to store his boat. That is litterally right on the waterfront. That same builder has housed 501 Gang Members in his rental properties and has a rather tight relationship with the Developers (Tempelton Group.. AKA the Mayors old school friend) And this council. remember, behind one of those Billboards is a permanent shed, by way of (cladding around shipping containers) specifically for his own storage.Ontop of all that, now this Council are pushing through a multi-million dollar land purchase on the actual waterfront for a community center which is the most rediculous location on Earth, especially when they have land very close that we... as rate payers.. already own. This Council is a behive of corruption, and Danny-Do-Little the mayor is nothing but a puppet for local, low life builders.

I sometimes report issues I see through Snap n Solve, most of which are related to graffiti and vandalism at bus stops I use. Every time the council has promptly responded to my reports and fix the issue within a few weeks (considering that fixing bus stops is probably at the bottom of their to-do list I think that's pretty quick). Overall I think they do a very good job.

No issue's with the Council for me. All my dealings with the Waimakariri District Council had been positive. The staff have always been helpful and attended to my questions with common sense, very quickly and in the correct way. The Council building is modern, well decorated and a nice environment. I am sure whatever you may require they will definitely be able to sort your requests with diligence and efficiency.
