Little Waipa Reserve
This is a peaceful meal stop, stretch/ break in a long north or south heading journey for us. The area is expansive and there is plenty of room to find a quiet place to gather your wit's or recharge the soul either after or before experiencing the mayhem on SH1. Located on an alternate much less travelled route in the central north island the drive to get here is scenic and worth the extra corners.This is also a freedom camping area with great support facilities for that activity as well as travellers, and we've always found it to be a comfortable place to stop.

Little Waipa Reserve
An idyllic spot along the Waikato river with picturesque views.You can camp here - there is a toilet and categorised bins on site. The river runs quietly and you are surrounded by greenery - trees, grass, bushes with water and blue sky. There are signs of tourism info for visitors which I found is really useful and informative. It's a perfect resting spot if you are one the river cycling route. You can easily spot some curious cattle and black swans cruising in the river.

Little Waipa Reserve
We really loved this camping domain because it was beautiful, on the banks of the mighty Waikato River with huge trees, boat ramp, clean toilet & shower block, plus bike trails in both directions. An informal camp site with a friendly atmosphere. We will certainly return and stay longer next time.

Beautiful campsite. Just loved it.+ lots of space (you really can pick your spot!)+ toiletes+ cold inside! shower+ free barbecues+ recycling bins- some sandflies (not too many though)- some noose from time to time from people sailing on the river- no dump or water (not even potable)? Remote location, thus very low reception and internetWhen we were there, we even managed to see double rainbow. :)

Quite little place with a few campervans and tents. Great spot to take a break and have a picnic or pitch a tent for the night.

Ablution block and plenty of space with tree surrounds, water views and a variety of water fowl. All accompany by smiling folk and a range of bird sounds.

Little Waipa Reserve
Need a permit but took 2 minutes to get one online. Nice area with proper rubish bins and recycling bins. One shower working with hot water. Not the most even ground though for parking camper

Little Waipa Reserve
Great little place to stop off at. Showers, long drop toilets, gas bbq. No permit required if staying 2 nights or less, can even freedom camp with a tent. River safe to enter at the end of the camp along with a boat ramp. Water seems clean with some weeds as you swim further out. Lovely river walk to Arapuni as you enter the camp. Dogs are welcome here and whilst most owners seem to be really good cleaning up there is the odd bit of dog poo around possibly where dogs have roamed on their own.
