If you want to swim, gym or relax with the kids, then QEII Recreation and Sport Centre covers everything. We went there for swimming. It think it's a biggest recreation centre in Christchurch. One of my friend told me that it was constructed for Commonwealth games. It has Fitness Centre , Indoor Pool, Leisure Pool and hydro-slides. For hydro-slides, you have to pay 7 dollars extra. Enough parking space is available.

Water can be a bit cold, nice to go for a swim before 3pm is great to go with kids, good activity area for kids, lazy river, spa, sauna. Cafe has everything you need after a swim to snack on or drink

Front staff were very friendly, great value for parent and toddler. Family changing room smelled. Only a quarter of the lazy river was working. Great play areas and water works in children pool.

Grate to have this facility. Unfortunately I have driven there several times when the lane pools are closed, with only a sign on the entry door - doesn't appear to be any way to communicate closure in advance.

Staff are great without a doubt. However, We come here every weekend for swimming lessons for the kids and more often than not they are at capacity. So we have to wait around. I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue or just because the council loves to down size everything post earthquake but either way it's unsatisfactory.
