My partner and I are from South Africa so Zealandia was recommended to us by quite a number of people. I must say that it did not disappoint. My favourite hotspot in the easier trail" was the walk on one of the bridges where we could see so much greenery and feel so at peace. I also loved the interactive box where we could hear individual wild bird's sounds. We did not go on a guided tour but I highly suggest that people do. We did miss out on the educational side because of it but there are information boards to show more about the wildlife. We left feeling like we were transported into another world and we will return again. Thank you to Zealandia for preserving such an incredible and important part of the NZ ecosystem!"

Do the night tour! This place is incredible. The night tour was really interesting and our guide was super knowledgeable. We got to see tons of creatures and cool plants and rivers and lakes! The darkness enhanced everything and made it fun! We were lucky and had great weather. If it's cold outside, definitely bundle up. I'm sure the daytime experience is just as exciting. I recommend a guided tour so you can really learn about what you're seeing and see things you wouldn't find on your own.

What an amazing spot! We loved the hike, even in the winter weather—and saw so many bird friends. And a reptile! Our family went on the electric boat ride. That guide was knowledgeable and helpful in understanding the complexities of running this place!!I would highly recommend a visit. Had we been there in time we’d have taken a guided tour. As it was, we felt lucky to see what we did and what a respite from conventional sight seeing! If I were a local I’d be there every week, for sure. Thanks for what you’re doing in providing sanctuary for these lovely friends. Keep up the good work.

A little pricey but worth visiting. Lots of easy walks and some harder trails for the fitter folk. The view from the dam (with the winds) is quite breathtaking. The cafe isn’t very impressive food-wise but a pretty good gift shop and rather accessibility-friendly activity for the day.We spent 2-2.5hours here, possibly would’ve been longer if we weren’t on a schedule.

Amazing views of birds and tuatara. The bush and lake walks were refreshing, incredible that Zealandia is inside the city. The cafe at the end coped well with a busy ANZAC day crowd, serving good food.

Welcome to Jurassic Park! Haha that's what I feel whenever I visit this place. Tip: go on days after it rains or during windy ones, since the birds will be forced to stay within the shelter of the trees and you'll get to see lots of them!

We played exotic bird bingo! I loved it so much. Honestly, I had no idea what a treat this reserve would be. I loved wandering the trails and listening for all the unique birds. I wish we had been able to go during the evening though- that is the only time you will see some Kiwis.

Absolutely loved it here when we visited in April. Staff friendly and chatty. I could visit everyday. Lovely walks and lots to see. Saw a Morepork up a tree sleeping and lots more animals. Def a place to visit and get with nature. Will def be back on return to NZ.
