Mair Park
Great family area, play ground for the kids and a public toilet. Lots of bush tracks where you can walk along the river or up to the top of Mt Parahaki. Feed the ducks or just lay on the grass and enjoy the sunshine

I went to Mair Park for the first time this last weekend when it was raining heavily and I thought it was amazing! Very few cars in the car park, very few people. I would imagine though that it gets very busy in the summer when the weather is warm and sunny. The paths are well maintained, albeit those on the other side of the bridge (going to the pa and up to the lookout) were closed for safety reasons.Dogs are allowed on the leash.

Mair Park is one of those beautiful hidden treasures that once you find you always enjoy returning. From the vast native forests with towering trees and ferns, to the grassy flat picnic spots along the waters edge. A real gem in Whangarei.

Maybe it's more about my personal attachment from my formative years but I love this place. Lovely green grass, friendly ducks, a nice river and beautiful bush land all around. This is also a great spot for a number of walks along the river or up the mountain. A nice playground.

I went up to check m out mountain biking tracks mainly, the entrance is on the right of the first car park, notice board posted as photo in this review. The side of the hill has just been logged so I’m not sure if any of all of the tracks are affected - I’d like to find this out before returning.Strolled up to the lookout, worthwhile yo have checked out the look out and they have a panoramic map-board if the surrounding area - really extensive and cool views giving a neat overview of this region - highly recommend (photos also posted).

Great walks, cool little bush Park in middle of town. One of those places you don't want to tell people about in case everyone goes!

A cute little park, great place to go to feed the ducks, apparently it's where all the local go to feed them. Very beautiful scenic bush, the river however was gross, you wouldn't want to swim in those waters.
