City Garden Lodge - BBH

The location is a beautiful suburban area not too far from the centre. Our room was small but clean and well presented. The amenities were very tidy and clean. The room included unlimited wifi. Service was adequate. We had no issues.

We all know rooms are just four walls n a roof and what actually matters at a business like this one is the service and that my friends was exceptional. I don't like to post comments and stuff but​ the fact that I am is a statement of the awesome service that I received​. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy going guys with customer's convenience in their minds is the best thing about this place. The rooms are as good as they come at such cheap prices. Cheers to the whole team especially Arun.

This place has its flaws such as a lack of proper cleaning of the place and only four showers and toilets for 60 people. Lack of power sockets in the seating area and staff that are not present during the afternoon.However it's better than staying in the cbd and the rooms are tolerable. The WiFi is free, unlimited and reasonably fast. It's quiet at night and the rooms do get some air (aside from the 4bed dorm).

We booked a private double room for a week and really appreciated the space! Very clean and comfortable bed in a spacious room with table and comfy chairs. It was the perfect room for us to relax and regroup for the week. The view of the sky tower from our window was really nice as well. The building itself is a nice old historical home, could do with some repairs, but definitely a good overall place to stay for a few days at a very reasonable price.

This place is cheap and has a great location. You can easily take the bus down town and be there within 15 minutes. The place is also pretty old. Some windows couldn't close and the rooms didn't look super nice. That's not a big problem, tbh. The problem is, is that the office was closed half an hour before it should be closed. The shower stalls were dusty on the outside and had several empty shampoo bottles on top. There are only two toilets, that you had to share with an entire floor. It's cheap, but it will do, if you're not too picky.

Really interested building which has had some pretty important guests over the years including the Queen of Tonga and also the Queen of England. Lovely feel to the place. Very quiet and peaceful. The rooms were a decent size. The kitchen was clean and spacious and the living room area was really well set out and comfy. The hostel is just a couple of minutes walk from Parnell high street which means that you have shops, restaurants and bars nearby. Would certainly stay here again.

Worst hostel I have ever stayed in. Very noisy as it seems like there are a few locals living here long term, drink every night and talk loud, etc. Kitchen is a mess and filthy, as are the bathrooms and everywhere else in the hostel. There are bed bugs here and it's not just in one room. We stayed in different rooms on the way up and on the way back. Classic bed bug bites on two occasions. Oddly it was the most expensive hostel we stayed in in the North Island. One positive was the location, but it is far outweighed by all the negatives.

Me and my boyfriend visited this hostel many times and it’s the only place we return to for our stays in Auckland. Always nice stuff, clean rooms and good service makes this place perfect for us. You can park your car in front of the hostel as well. Also notice for people who came for working holiday visa, this hostel will provide you the much needed proof of address.

We had room 11. A private double room that is spacious and the bed and pillows are super comfy! The sheets clean and silky soft. Was sad to see there is no window in this room. Just a double door opening out to an enclosed balcony that also was accessable to like 3/4 other rooms so not feeling safe to leave the door open. The place is in a quiet area and most of the time quiet, although you can't foresee who else will be at the hostel at the time. We had some loud and noisy neighbors - come on guys, people sleep, or have jet lag! Otherwise everything else is great here. You got everything you need; laundry, 20 mins walk to town, nice outside area. Would stay again :)

Country style build with history. This heritage house has a very nice lounge and dining areas, the rest of the place needs updating. The staff are great and very accomodating, helpful. There's just too much old stuff outside of the house by the laundry area. Could use some updating and cleaning. Very very good location, convenient as grocery stores, restaurants, even some market (french market) down the road.
