Absolutely awesome! Such a nice little gem. The food is delicious and fresh. The service is fast and very friendly. An absolute MUST if you visit the Coromandel.

Shop was extremely clean and the staff amazingly friendly. My order was taken with a smile and arrived promptly at my table. Food was delicious and a very good portionsize. My coffee was perfect, nice and hot which I prefer. Their prices were very reasonable, thank you Chequers Courtyard CafeThames, keep up the good work, see you on my next visit.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast on our road trip and was happily surprised! The garden area was so beautiful and the server was very kind and friendly! Next time I am in Thames I will be back! P.s. I loved the chess board!

Had a lovely lunch. Cafe was busy. Beef hotpot and fish hotpot were both delicious. Coffee was good and hot. We will eat here again.

This place used to have the best date scones until the recipe changed slightly and they shrunk.They used to be made with lots of chunky dates, and now they are diced too small, so the flavor of the date is lost in the dough.They always seem to be understaffed, hence the long wait times. Food is alright depending on what you order.Little hit and miss.

Ordered ' big breakfast' as it used to be good.However this morning the ' big breakfast' was like thisA small amount of mushroomsTwo number 5 eggsOne piece of toastOne sauge half normal size and raw in the middleFried potato with skin smelling strangeAnd two halfs of tomato warmed up.Did not comment when I gave it back and there was no apology from there side.Coffee used to be very good today milkyVery bad experience not to be had again there. Sad as it was a nice cafe and brought many tourist there who all enjoyed sitting outside in the back yard.

Wholesome, tasty, reasonably priced food. I recommend it in preference to the more upmarket, trendy, expensive version across the road. Pleasant environment. Staff are friendly.The only criticism is that staff can have an aloof manner - but that is a NZ disease - NZers don't 'serve' easily.

Awful food , worse than hospital food. The fish hotpot was very salty, and the bread on the side were very dry. If there were some frozen veggie mix inside, it would have helped cut the heaviness and saltiness. The sausage roll and savoury wasn’t good at all, just dry. Went at the end of the day so only offered cabinet food which could be a contributing factor :/ !Otherwise lovely seating area at the back!
