Ian and Janet are real crafts people. Bread made from scratch, not some fancy mixture and 'just add water'. It really is the best bread you'll ever taste. The divine ciabatta is a personal favorite!

Food tasty , overpriced though ....I don't like the owners at all .,pretty arrogant I thought ,......... I've got my flat up for sale and will Leave town for a bigger city that has good food like this on every corner....... goodbye ,I won't miss you and deluca cafe has much better food and much nicer staff.

On a recent weekend away in Russell my wife and I had breakfast at the Hell Hole cafe, where they serve Handsome Frog sourdough bagels. So good!!! Passing though Whangarei a couple of days later we contacted Handsome Frog to purchase some. We were invited to connect with Ian and Janet before a pending Artisan Market and secured a bag each of plain and poppy seed. Breakfast is sorted for a few days to come. Great people, great product, great service. Thanks guys!!!

Pies are not cheap but are very high quality with interesting flavours. Loved the baklava. Tons of vegetarian choices, but still something for the carnivorous. I would like to try the low cost breakfast options they had on the blackboard.

Handy at markets, sadly coffee was really not that great, threw mine, others with me finished theirs, Kai expensive but it’s marketed as gourmet so to be expected, that’s just my opinion, others will love. Definitely not worthy of a psycho keyboard ninja 1 star, nice lady in the eftpos, if I came across them again I’d do it all again as I said it’s handy they are mobile when you need a brew or a bite, hopefully can upgrade to a 5. Cheers.
