Matapihi Footbridge Lookout

We went wandering at night and the view was awesome!

Great walk giving amazing views of the harbour. It is a bit narrow if you cycle.

Could do with a bit of a clean up and a revamp, otherwise a nice little spot hidden away in the city.

A bit of of the way but a lovely bridge to walk across on a nice day. The views are magnificent when clear and sunny. To be avoided on a windy day. Cyclists use this bridge a bit too in order to get to Matapihi or vice versa.

Fun as place to jump off but watch out for security guards in the summer

This is an awesome place for a walk, easy, flat and on an even boardwalk. And then the view, just sensational.

One of the best walks in Tauranga for sea views

Nice walk across especially today. You can access this side of the footbridge from The Strand or from Elizabeth and Davenport Street.

I have been going to check this place out since stumbling across the carpark below about 5 months ago. I quite often drive my car there and let my dear Chester, my dog out to explore, test the water and I don't need to get my Wheelchair out of the car. BUT today I did, after seeing another local guides review. I wanted to see if accessible for my wheelchair. And it was!. YES WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE.Was an awesome view , didn't make it all the way across as my elderly Ches found it too far so will leave him in car next time or take his cart!. I had just gotten off when a train came past on the tracks which are right next to footbridge. I am glad I was off, as even though totally safe with barriers between, is very close and very noisey and I feel myself and my dog would have gotten a real fright!. I think my language would have become colourful" and my dog could have quite easily ........ had a turn.The track is only just wide enough for two walkers
