Went in to buy a guitar for my daughter who was just starting to learn. Dave the sales man was professional. He didn't try to sell me an expensive guitar. He sold me the right instrument for the stage we needed it for. Honesty goes a long way

Good stock levels and selection. Shop had what I wanted , all happy

I started to play drums about 6 month ago and Dave recommended an Alesis kit that has worked great for me. Since then I have been to the shop for various other bits of kit for electric and acoustic drums. My wife bought a few music books. The atmosphere in the shop is always positive and friendly, staff is very helpful and leans over backwards to find the best solution. Staff are generally musicians who play one or several instruments and know their stuff.I shook my head over some of the negative reviews here. I guess pleasing all people all the time just doesn't work, not even for the outstanding people who run or work at the Rockshop.Napier Rockshop is my go-to music shop and I highly recommend it because the selection of stock is large, prices are good and advice is outstanding.

Revised review after going more than once. Stood at the counter with item in hand waiting to purchase, in plain sight of a staff member who was chatting to a mate for 5 minutes, and then he acted as if he was doing me a favour...better take your money then." If you were trying to be funny...it fell flat."

A great store and a very worthy member of the Rockshop family! I was trying acoustic guitars, looking for something special. Hats off to these guys who gave me all the time and excellent advice too. A very special range of acoustics and knowledge to match. Rapt with my new Taylor! Highly recommend this store.

I was very much afraid of walking into another guitar store but I conquered my fear and stepped in. There it was, my dream guitar, the EC-1000 VB Duncan, begging me to pick it up.Oh I did more than just pick it up. I caressed it like I just found my long lost wife in the middle of a jungle. I grew so emotionally attached to it in those mere seconds.With the wonderful aid of the store keeper, David, I carried this baby out like a champ. Even as I fumbled with my foreign VISA card not registering in the system, David waited for me patiently, chatting with me about the passion I love so much.David even helped me did a little setup on the guitar and threw in a bonus pack of Elixir's Nanoweb strings. Never felt so happy in a while. This might be the last time I'm wandering into a guitar store with my pockets full.After I stepped out of the guitar shop with my new guitar, I went on the hunt for a doctor, someone who can cure my Gear Acquisition Syndrome. Because this very shop right here, just made my GAS hit the extreme high end.
