This is a fantastic venue. Food is great. The staff however are incredible. Very relaxed friendly service and quick to offer more drinks or clear the table. The management should be pleased they have developed such a great team.Lots of outdoor seating or space inside by the fireWould definitely recommend and will definitely return.

I went to the Gin Trap twice in two days. I cannot stop raving to everyone I see about how good it was. Attentive and compassionate service, the most extensive gin list you can imagine, and food that knocks your socks off.I will be back here as soon as I can get time off from my hospitality job in Auckland. The Gin Trap is the kind of establishment that you want to be a regular at, and I hope they open a location in Auckland, so I can be there everyday.Once again, the employees were extremely organized, and never let our drinks get empty before checking on us. One of the younger servers, Ashley, treated us like family and took time to get to know us and make us feel welcome.This place can take all my money, and the ownership should be very proud of their amazing restaurant and more importantly their well-trained and professional staff. 10 stars out of 5.Also, on our way in we saw Orcas, not that they can get any credit for that, but a once in a lifetime experience.

Firstly who drinks wine at the Gin trap, like come on?Now we had to go for a 5 star, the service was great, friendly and honest.The Taco share platter was a good sized meal for two. Lots of variety and great tasting food. Paired with some of the best beer battered chips I’ve had! Aioli was amazing!And on to the gins, huge range, awesome choices, and delicious flavours.All of the best tonic options to go along side.The little biddy hazy spiced apple was superb. Followed closely by the broken heart quince.10/10 Would recommend to a friend.

I decided to just have dessert and a drink here.The desserts are on another level the mousse one I had had gin on ice on the top so delicious..And the cheesecake definitely was yummy with coffee..Atmosphere was buzzing and had a great view of the Ahuriri Harbour.Staff were excellent too very friendly and helpful..

Good recommendations. Nice view of sea. Great food and drinks.Easy parking close by.Atmosphere was coastal chic. Gin went well with chowder for a holiday start.

Came here with a party of 5. Excellent sea food dishes here!Fish burger was fresh and the fries were crispy. The smoked seafood chowder had a generous amount of fish and prawns and i loved the consistency. Everything came out piping hot and at the time which is awesome when dining in a group.Service was fine, and the atmosphere is cool with classic 70/80s music videos playing for a relaxed vibe.

We met here with friends for a dinner catchup and the whole experience was awesome. It's very busy so we made a reservation which meant we were seated quickly and soon browsing the extensive gin bible. The staff really know their gin pairings and recommended the best tonic for each. The food was excellent and the coffee cheesecake dessert didn't disappoint. The service was really great and we'll definitely be back next time

A very popular spot in a great location. Would recommend booking a table as it gets very busy. The staff were very professional and friendly. The meals took a little longer to come out due to the restaurant being so busy but were worth waiting for. A great Gin selection with bar staff who know how to serve a great cocktail. A little on the pricey side but would recommend and happily return.
