Love love love this place. A quirky little caravan with the most delicious fish and chips I've had. The lady who was running it at the time was kind enough to stop me from ordering enough for a small village. The servings are very generous and 1.5 scoops of chips is more than enough for a family of 4.An absolute must when visiting Stuart Island

Tried the battered blue cod and grilled blue cod. Both were absolutely perfect, but there really was something special about the battered blue cod. It was very rich and buttery with the perfect amount of seasoning. The chips were great as well, and half a scoop was still a huge portion to share between two people.

Loved the battered cod. And sausage was good as well.Loved the chips as well. What you see is one scoop. Feeds 2 quite well.

Some of the best fried fish I have had in a long time. And the chips aren’t bad either. Pricing is fair and the ladies that were running the shop when we ate here were very nice. Awesome little fish n chip shop that we were very happy to support. If you’re in Oban, I think it’s a must-do.

Easily the best fish available in the Southern Hemisphere is served here!I’m not a foodie or don’t know to write those fancy food reviews. My only worry is that fish will taste horrible when I get back to mainland later.

The battered cod was crispy and juicy, the grilled cod was light and very tasty. Even the coleslaw was excellent. We were so happy with our meal after our previous, very disappointing, fish n chips experience in Dunedin. This was so much better.

I would say it probably is the best fish n chips I’ve ever had! The blue cod was a generous serving, so fresh with nice crispy batter. The mussels were ok. We ordered far too much, a half scoop chips is plenty for two.

Delicious, fresh, locally sourced food. Reasonably priced & good portion sizes too. Friendly chef. Space to eat in the sunshine & also seating & raised benches under cover if there is some rain. Menu in photos.

Delicious blue cod and chips at lunch, so we went back to try to mussels at dinner. My recommendation is to stick to ordering the fish, I found the fried mussels very difficult to eat. Part of this was likely my fault, as I couldn't wait till they were cool enough to bite in half. As mentioned elsewhere in the reviews, the chips portions are very generous, so probably only order a half scoop. My only complaint is that I went back too many times and my stomach paid for the grease.

I stopped my vegetarian diet during the days I was here just to try this and had no regrets at all. The grilled blue cod was divine, perfectly seasoned and cooked. Just a small fillet really but it’s fresh, not frozen. They change their opening days every week though, so you wouldn’t know when they will open next week until you see the board every Monday. I found this out to my chagrin when I planned for lunch there based on a previous reviewer’s photo of their opening hours - the days were swapped when I was there. Chips are pretty standard, nothing fancy. The vegetarian burger wasn’t too bad either!
