The Natural Flames Experience was a fantastic trip! Walking through authentic New Zealand beech forest to a unique site. The Natural Flames must be one of the best-kept secrets of the South Island! Our guide Steve took great care of us and made some delicious pancakes on the flames. Highly recommend it.

This is a must do. We had an amazing day. A lovely walk through the bush with Steve providing just the right amount of fascinating information and stories along the way. He was brilliant. Guide extraordinaire. The flames themselves were amazing. And we also need to mention Robyn's organisation and communication when we booked. Highly recommend.

What an extraordinary experience - to see the flames of natural gas seeping from the earth in the middle of bush. As much as this was the drawcard for me I also thoroughly enjoyed the farm, the forest and the information passed on by Steve during the tour. Highly recommend.

An awesome day with Steve as guide. Interesting historical information, beautiful native New Zealand bush walk beside a crystal clear river, yummy pancakes to eat cooked over natural gas flames on the forest floor, great company.

Fantastic experience! Well worth doing. Beautiful tramp into the bush near Murchison. Very kind and very knowledgeable guide. Very patient and making sure we had a great experience. Having a cup of coffee and a pancake in the middle of the bush #priceless

Absolutely fantastic day out! Great hike through some stunning NZ bush guided by friendly and knowledgeable local, Steve. Billy tea and pancakes at the natural flames site was a treat. Would 100% recommend this to anyone who happens to be in the area as it’s such a great way to see the “real NZ” that you just can’t see from the road.
