Beware of overcharging! Tonight we phoned in a $16 order from the online menu and we were charged $21. If you are going yo hike your prices please adjust your menu first. No apology or offer to put it right. Bad business.....

Think this is my favourite chippy in town. I recently made an order and got caught up in town and they had to throw my order away. They made me a new order on the spot even though it was my fault! They're great and super accomodating and will encourage others to get their meals here. Great service and great food too!!

This was the WORST place ever. 57$ for 2 fish 2 scoops 1 chocolate explosion 1 crabstick 1 mini hotdog.All soggy and just rank.Had to get the price checked 2 times as they told me 2 different prices, they missed one crabstick as I ordered two. When I rang back to tell them they missed a grabstick they said well so what do ya want. Absolutely disgusting food with a disgusting price. Undercooked batter soggy chips. Our family going to be sick tomorrow that's for sure."

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked and the batter was nice and crispy. Very kind staff as well. I got the gurnard and a half scoop of chips - enough to feed two people!!

We have been getting fish n chips from this shop (and the shop formerly known as Alton Street Takeaways) for over 40 years. Best in Nelson. I particularly recommend the potato fritters (flips) as a delicious addition to any meal. So grateful for the effort and dedication!
