Lovey setting next to cycle trail. The pond area great for leisure kayaking and camping. Near the river which seems quite popular for fishing. One toilet only take your rubbish with you as no rubbish bins. 5 kms from Roxburgh.

Beside the Clutha River, between Millers Flat and Roxburgh this is a lovely spot to relax in the sun or wander around the pond. There are interpretation boards explaining the gold mining history. Peaceful but popular, it's right on the Clutha Gold cycle trail but SH8 is on the opposite side of the river. With a great little cafes at both Millers Flat and Ettrick (across the river) and Jimmy's Pies just up the road in Roxburgh, there's no need to be hungry!

Beautiful, idyllic, for the one night I stayed.3x stars because the one onsite toilet is super disgusting. Sure, its a basic long drop, I'm used to them, but this one was horrific.Also, no mobile coverage. Maybe one bar now & then.

Wonderful spot with bathing pond. Very popular. Only negative is the undulations across the area. Big thank you Otago council for giving freedom campers a place. If only Auckland council had a heart rather than cutting off clean water to their people.

5 stars. Nice warm lake, and beautiful river nearby for fresh water. For the fools demanding all the bells and whistle, REMINDER, it's a free campsite, settle down and go to a paid one if you want to dump rubbish and have full facilities.

Amazing hidden gem. Great safe swimming for littlies in the Pond. Close to Clutha Gold Trail and Clutha River. Easy to find a space and some privacy. Only one portaloo and one longdrop that get pretty full.

Nice spot, however on Jan 10th 23 we got rudely woken up at 11 pm by a random car pushing into our van multiple times, when we finally made it out to check what was happening, they drove off. Very unsettling experience, will not visit this site again.

Good place to free camp but the water doesn't look too inviting for a swim.
