Bupa Sunset Retirement Village and Care Home

As an ex nurse who has worked in Aged Care , Sunset stands out as one of the best .The environment is friendly , staff are wonderful and. the clinical care is excellent as is the overall management. Aunty couldn't be happier

Every time I visit my nana here I'm always greeted by the friendly reception staff with a smile and a goodmorning. The nurses are so patient with my nana who suffers from dementia I'm glad she is somewhere safe and caring.

Not good ...Loud, and inconsiderate staff members, not caring for elderly or changing their wet diapers, customer service is appalling and shocking, No warm welcome greetings on arrival apart from one lady who is always nice ...They are too quick to feed them dinner and quickly dump them on beds before 9pm usually.Senior Management needs to look at the services provided by the staff members as often seen busy talking to each other in their own language.The clients given high dosages to keep them clam are highly common for the poor residents regardless of the nature of the circumstances. Often things, valuables, clothes and belongings of residents are misplaced or gets Missing and not to be found. Often the rooms smells like soiled urine ?Please provide with Better Care standards

Very happy with the private hospital in their care of my late father and also the retirement village where my mother lives happily. Can't fault the always professional and caring staff - the retirement village manger Donna and her staff deserve special mention for their care of the community my mother thrives in. Bupa have by far exceeded my expectations with the care of both of my parents and on the whole the design of the village.

It is a very beautiful rest home, whenever I go there, I feel very welcome and very respected by all staff, clinical manager is very warm and caring, along with the facility manager, staff go the extra mile

Amazing workplace. Worked there for few years as RN as an ex employee couldn't deny its a workplace where you are well looked after.Nice colleague who did so well and sticked together in difficult Covid outbreak time.Last but not least residents are well taken care by experienced and efficient health professional team.

I have experienced first hand the warm and caring environment for all residents of this lovely home and would recommend to anybody that is looking for a safe enjoyable environment for their loved ones. The clinical manager was both professional and at the same time felt part of the family due to her passion for her role. We were always well informed about anything that regarded our loved one as she truely cares about the privacy and wellbeing of both the residents and staff keeping all parties involved in decisions and day to day life .ism truly grateful to the rest home manager, amazing caregivers the amazing activities that were provided by the activities staff, the great food that is provided and the fabulous facilities that Terry in maintenance upkeeps.

The best place and highly recommended. Been doing a few jobs at the place and the care staff are very friendly and always greeted me with a smile. The residents are well dressed and seem happy at all time. The care staff go out of their ways to try and entertain the residents.Thank you sunset

Contrary to what others have negatively about the BUPA experience...this is just the best retirement village because they have a real culture of care! This is my 5th year of sitting with my 96 year old mother for two to three days at a time. I have a lot of time to spend watching and listening. Not once in those five years from either down in the dementia wing or the hospitable wing have I ever witnessed careless or shabby care. They talk lovingly with these old people like they matter and yes, teasing and humour is part of that. Sometimes, the nurses, my mother and I laugh loudly as we too engage with nurses and carers making this a happy place. We also sing there too. I know Shintu well enough to say that that woman takes great pride in her work with the BEST sense of humour! Yola Rabe .

This Rest Home should be closed down. Due to a dodgy sneaky clinical Manager, to dodgy unprofessional uncaring over dosing abusive staff. This review will be taken down just like all the other bad reviews, cause they have a lot to hide. Absolutely disgusting and terrible Rest Home. You have be warned!!! This will be removed as its a dodgy outfit.
