Clam chowder was really good. The lamb rack definitely recommended!! We ordered two lamb racks.But the seafood platter was very suspicious. All the other seafoods were great except the crayfish. I’ve been having crayfish since we came to NZ, from Christchurch to Kaikoura, and from Bluff to Queenstown, battered, steamed, grilled, or butter cooked.This crayfish we had tasted really different from what I had before. The tail wasn’t juicy or chewy. It tasted rather soft and creamy… feels like it wasn’t fresh enough. The manager assured us that their crayfish was delivered today so we ate it at the end.. wouldn’t recommend this crayfish. But other food was great.Staff were super super friendly and helpful tho.

What a surprise! We were looking for hot mulled wine all over the place, guess what captain has made our dream come true! Your hot mulled wine is the bomb! So nice to drink this 5c temperature weather! Other good also so delightful! Thank you!

First morning in Queenstown and was treated to a delicious Eggs Benedict Brunch. As someone who loves her pirate/nautical themes, this restaraunt has a great, warm atmosphere and friendly service. The Benny was mouth-watering, and staff dutifully added bacon to my salmon stack (you'd be surprised how many places fail at this request). Not used to a thick, fresh cooked cut of salmon, the whole plate was filling and delicious. I regret not taking a photo of the meal!Will definitely return for dinner on my next visit!

The rack of lamb was amazing. So tender and filled me up with such joy. The fresh oysters were great as well. So fresh fresh fresh.Supercharger ales were amazing too.

Staff are amazing and atmosphere nice. A bit pricey for what you get. Seafood chowder was nice, oysters were small but loved them anyway. My husband enjoyed his sirloin steak meal which included, chips and a salad. My lamb cutlets were over cooked and dry, so I ended up drowning it in the sauce, lots of chips and salad. To be honest it looked like the salad was probably brought by the bags from the supermarket.

Location and service are great - right in main Queenstown centre.Food portions were a bit small given the price but relatively tasty. Ordered the seafood chowder, mussels (only had about 9 mussels and one slice of bread ) and 6 bluff oysters - cost about $85 NZD and came out quickly.

The lamb shank was good. Not nearly the best I've had in NZ. I thought it was overpriced mostly because it doesn't come with any sides. Service and atmosphere were fantastic. I would try again!

The restaurant is located in the main street of Queenstown where is the perfect place for preasure dining as all food and service were impressive. The ribeye steak, clam chowder are highly recommended.

Captains Steak and Seafood Restaurant
This is our second day in Queenstown , didn't know that it's a public holiday in town, many restaurants were closed . This restaurant is a very popular place here in downtown. The service is really good, staff are friendly and helpful. The food we have ordered are nice and good taste . Steak , lamb and seafood chowder are excellent. A good experience.
