Great view from top of the takaka hill. Make sure you visit Ngarua caves only 2 minutes up hill on right

Had to stop, was on way to the salmon farm. My toddler threw up on herself, it had already been a bit of a long trip with her fussing in the car and the windy roads. Stopped for a break, realised the salmon farm was closing in 30 minutes. Glad we stopped. Made the view even better !

Hawkes Lookout Parking
Stunning views from hills to the sea after a lovely short walk through the bush. The story of the land is beautifully explained on storyboards. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet at the start. I am unsure if someone in a wheelchair might be able to freely utilise the actual track to the lookout due to the tiered wooden walkway and earthen paths.

This is a great little bushwalk to a stunning lookout. It is well maintained & not far at all. Highly Recommend!

Hawkes Lookout Parking
The hawkes lookout is a nice stop after a long climb all the way from motueka on the golden bay route. It is a 10 minutes walk return to get a panorama view and a steep look down. You walk through a nice path with singing birds around you.

Walk took a little longer than I was expecting but it's well worth it. The track is well maintained and lots of Bird life. Particularly noisy bellbirds!The view is great!
