Raetea North Side Camping Area
Beaut spot, lots of Kauri trees there that have been moved from different spots around New Zealand because of the Kauri Die back Disease. Please respect that Whenua like you would respect a place of paradise. Please also pick up your Fallas rubbish. Jah bless

Raetea North Side Camping Area
Rocked up late arvo to camp the night after nearby doc sites and campgrounds were full . Ran into a bunch of noisy/disrepectful locals who ruined the experience for us . The gate was locked across the foward with other locals camping on the other side . Not impressed! Sand flys are there . Nice spot to stay how ever fresh water river almost drinkable . Strongly reccemend boiling first

The meadow to park is closed by a big stone (campervans used to sink and get stuck the moist terrain). But about 15 campervans find place on the parking lot. The toilet is way to far from the parking. And even dangerous at night, and you have to wade through a river to get there. At least it is free.

Raetea North Side Camping Area
Great spot, the main area is closed during winter but the carpark is still available for camping. The toilet is 2 clean long drops with toilet paper, soap and water about 500m away from the carpark through a shallow river crossing so be prepared. There is a very friendly annoying rooster who likes to hang around vans and call out at 4am, he's a nice guy other than that though.

Nice camping area. Scenic beauty. Tons of space for parking. There is a toilet further up in this area to reach that you need to cross the stream... so i believe that wont be accessible in rainy days

Raetea North Side Camping Area
Very basic and simple. Nice clean toilets. Why only three stars? This place is full of not very bright people. They drive very fast and unsafe over the campground. Were clearly locals. Also the second half of the campground with the toilets, was closed. So it was a 2-3min walk from the half that was open.

great place! couldnt ask for more from a free campsite. The grass was overgrown, clean toilet but no toilet paper

Little slice of paradise just south of Kaitaia. Native bush and birds, mountain stream, peace and tranquillity. Stunning!

I didn't have a problem with this place, toilets stunk a bit but it was the middle of summer and I loved staying here. Quiet nights are best part.
