So quiet and comfortable. Gorgeous view. Trish was so helpful and friendly.

Awful place to stay, noisy and dirty. Windows were broken and dirty, decor was trying to be regal but instead is garish. Unaware that we needed to book dinner 24 hours in advance we were offered tomato soup in the stable (the restaurant is upstairs so not accessible). Parking very difficult anywhere near the rooms unless you are lucky. Checkout before 9 is at the gift shop in the main building as is breakfast which is just bizarre. We got the impression that we should be privileged to stay and fit around their requirements rather than the Lodge being welcoming with a focus on customer service. We cut our losses and left a day early.

Stayed 3 nights at Larnach and loved every minute. The staff are truly amazing, great ambassadors for Larnach Castle and for New Zealand. Loved our room, we had the Victorian Room and I really did feel the connection. The bathroom was a dream, the views from our room were sensational. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening dining experience and meeting and getting to know other travellers as we shared a meal and conversation in a stunning banquet room. Breakfast was most enjoyable, the gardens and tour of the castle an absolute highlight. Thank you staff and owners of this glorious place, a step back in time was just what we needed.

Very poor service, booked on the basis of having a restaurant after a long drive, told on arrival we needed to book 45minutes ago to get any food. Nothing available, not a slide of bread or a soda !Ended up driving into Dunedin to get an early evening meal.Place is little more than an overpriced Airbnb.Have had much better for a fraction of the cost

Stunning views and gardens. Delightful accommodations. Springing for dinner in the castle was the best decision, we had a great time.

Nice experience to stay at the Stable,Didn't expect the room size, small but it's OK.. At least the bed is comfy.. :-)It's really nice walking around the castle when its quiet, really enjoyed the garden, and the food is good too..Me and husband stay for couples night, and it was nice experience.

Is located about 20ks out of town. Views from all sides. Gardens well maintained. A unique place to stay. Staff attentive

Absolutely unique location with amazing views across Dunedin and the peninsula. Pitch yourself moments at sunrise looking out of your windows. Terrific full breakfast that set you up for a fabulous day exploring the natural beauty and wildlife of this unique part of the world. Do yourself a favour and indulge yourselves.

An absolut great place to stay. Very friendly service and the Charme of the castel is unbelievable. A beautiful gardenand perfekt view into the bay. The rooms are very nice with different styl. We had the Room Sea, with an breathleas view. I nevery had a Room like this.
