Kaikoura Lookout
A cool lookout on a water reservoir on the top of the hill above Kaikoura township. It provides stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Kaikoura ranges and the Kaikoura coastline to the North and South. It's an easy walk to get to the lookout from the town of Kaikoura or alternatively you can drive right there.

Kaikōura township is located between the sea and the foot of the Seaward Kaikōura Ranges, which has more than half a dozen peaks over 2,000 metres.The Seaward Kaikoura Range rises up almost directly out of the sea in places.The Kaikoura Ranges are an impressive sight, visible for quite some distance. On a clear day you can see the ranges from the southern coast of the North Island.

Easy drive to the lookout. We went during the day. We wanted to go during sunrise but we could not fit it in our timetable. You can see whole of Kaikoura city. Lot of parking space. When we went there was only one vehicle. Sunrise would be so surreal at this place. Good place to relax and have lunchm

It is an amazing spot to have a break at.The view is outstanding. There are seats there to sit on.The car park there fits like 5 cars only. And there aren't any bathrooms there.
