Beresford Heights Accommodation

It’s been a month and my partner and I can’t stop talking about this as an absolute highlight of our honeymoon. While you could use it as a base to explore the amazing Catlins, I would suggest just… staying there. It was so peaceful and luxurious. Definitely order a dinner basket, it was insanely good, and then pour yourself a wine and sit in the hot top and marvel at how lucky you are to be there.

This is THE best place to stay, the quality of the place, the attention to detail. This is definitely a five star accomodation with the down to earth quality of being on a fully working farm and the price is incredibly reasonable, especially for the quality you get. Steph and Warren are excellent hosts. We recommend getting at least one meal, Steph must have been a top chef in her previous life or something. This place surpasses others by miles, the ability to jump into the hot tub at any time, the seclusion, the views, the cleanliness, the added extras, really there’s nothing but an awesome time to be had up here. ❤️ Waking up to the dusting of snow was like the icing on the cake. (And of course made me head straight for the hot tub again!) Speaking of the hot tub, it’s on the deck, but tucked behind a large glass balustrade, right close to the bathroom, and the hot water is piped in for instant hot water! Spectacular! ❤️ The house is super well designed with big sliders towards the view and sun, with an added fire as well it’s toasty warm and gorgeous to be in even if the weather isn’t as spectacular as it has always been during our stays.We recommend this place for booking for as many nights in a row as you can, and using it as a resting healing getaway. It’s superb!Thanks Steph and Warren for being solidly decent hard working people that understand what you need to have the most amazing getaway. Huge respect for what you are doing here. We’ll be seeing you again that’s for sure.

Another great stay, thank you so much Steph! This place is amazing, hot tub and radio on and just a place to unwind. The sunrises are amazing! Lovely and warm and comfortable!

This place is like heaven. The hosts took us to the house, which is 2km from the ground, by their car. Everything in the house is well-designed and cozy. There’s a hot tub to bath while enjoying the land view. Awesome sunrise too!!! Steph and Warren are great hosts. Warren shared a lot about the sheep industry. We had spectacular time here.

My wife and I had a magical time at Beresford Heights! The view was surreal, the accommodations top notch, and the care of the owners superb. If you’re willing for a bit of adventure, they take you to the cabin in a 4 wheel drive truck, it was a highlight of our New Zealand adventure!

Everything about our stay was great, from the amazing food, the wonderful views, the comfy bed, through to the relaxing spa and the peaceful surroundings. Great hosts, and a fantastic weekend getaway!

Our stay at Beresford Heights was amazing. The experience starts with an exciting ATV ride up to accomodation through the hosts beautiful farm. When we arrived it was everything and more than expected. Unfortunately at our stay the clouds were obscuring the view- we got a few glimpses and it was breathtaking. However, the pace was super cozy and a great place to spend a winters night. Steph made an amazing platter for us and there were plenty of lovely treats- the granola for breakfast was lovely. Definitely would visit again!

We were doing a 14 day south island road trip and stayed at this wonderful spot for two nights. Steph is the most wonderful host, so accommodating and so hospitable. I booked the cabin for two nights for my family (party of 4). I have the best time staying at the cabin. I didn't read any review beforehand and i thought it would just be a regular Airbnb self check-in situation.Man, what an experience going up that hill. Growing up in a city, I have never set foot on a ranch, not to mention, riding a razor and seeing sheep disperse around the vehicle when we drive pass them. These sheep might as well be the most adorable things I've ever seen in my life. I could not stop thinking about them. I went to sleep that night having that imagery vividly replaying in my head.Something also worth mentioning is that I booked this place for four people, my partner and I + my parents. Our trip got a bit of rough start as my parents' travel documents was delayed so they missed most of our family vacation. But they were finally able to join us a week into the trip. I haven't seen them for four years, and it was so emotional picking them up at the Dunedin airport on the second day I'm staying with Steph. We mentioned this to Steph in the morning and she helped arranged transportation to transferred everyone and their luggage up to the mountain that night and did two trips the next morning getting everyone off the mountain. She also baked homemade carrot cake and got us extra goodies for breakfast. So thoughtful and sweet! We had the best time watching the sunrise and having breakfast the next morning on the patio.This place will always have a special place in my heart, and this experience is truly unique and once in a lifetime. The family really really appreciate everything you've done for us, Steph.

This is a hidden gem, perched high up on a mountain overlooking an endless vista of rolling farmland all the way to the coast. We had a wonderful stay. The hosts are super friendly. The house is stylish and very well appointed , including a lovely hot tub on the deck. We took advantage of the catering that was offered as an add on. The lamb steak option of the Beresford Bundle" was delicious. The small extras that have been thoughtfully added and the attention to detail made this a truly memorable stay. Pricing is very reasonable for the level of luxury offered. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway if you are in the area."
