Laundromat Franz Josef

The washing machines were good. Took about 40 minutes for a wash. The driers took forever.....the slowest drying I've ever had..... maybe the washing machines didn't spin as well as others. The machines certainly rocked around while spinning

Dryers are a joke, don't even bother using them they do nothing. Wasted so much money and time here

It was good to find a laundrette so central. There is only one washing machine that does a warm/hot wash. The 4Square Supermarket will give you change. The dryers are large and good. We put ours on a warm dry and it was pretty hot, so glad that we didn’t pick the hot option. Price is very reasonable for a laundrette - motorcamp prices. $4 per wash and $2 for 20 mins of drying time.

Takes $2 coins only!!! Washing is 2 x $2 for 40 mins approx and dryer is $2 for 20mins approx. There are lots of confusing signs over the costs/times and where you can/can't change coins. Ignore the sign about the 'office' changing coins. The office next door is a kayak company and I think are a bit sick of people asking for coins - same with the iSite over the road. Apparently this place is owned by the Terrace Motel (350m out the door to the left) - however this is not mentioned on the multitude of signs. Also, for a business providing cleaning services, they could really benefit from a bit of housekeeping of their own - the floor was pretty disguising.

There isn't another laundrette in Franz Josef. Maybe try a caravan park instead.As per the signs.... 1 machine didn't wash properly, so i had to pay again and put the clothes in the 2nd machine. The 2nd machine washed ok but doesn't spin the clothes properly. I had to wring them out by hand before putting them in the dryer.The stacked up dryers worked OK.$2 gives you 16 minutes of drying. It took $6 (3 full cycles) to dry the clothes.

4$ for washing and f..... 2$ for 25 min drying. half of machines broken.wasted 12$ for one load of still wet laundry...

It was very small and hard to find since the sign was hidden. The machines that were working were ok, though are a bit funny" as a local put it. We had to search for the operating price since the sinage was poor. We wasted $8 on the dryer and the clothes we still very wet after 90 minutes on high. We then had to spend abother $6 for another drier
