A must visit in Reefton if you are into history and nostalgia. The curator is very knowledgeable of mining and the working of the extraction processes. Something for everyone.

Lovely little museum, packed full of local history. The curator there is a wealth oh knowledge and can answer any questions you have and loves sharing the history. There is a working model of the mine stamper which is neat to see if you have been exploring the local mine sites. $5 per adult

Doesn’t look like much this museum but is super good. The guy that runs it is brilliant. Passionate and very bright. He’s a star (is his name Cory)?) The difference between this museum and others is it’s about people and he’s the link. Great stories and a history of resilience, physical toughness and fortitude. Give that guy that runs it a raise imo.Tim Aldridge
