Don't follow through with plans in place, they like to retraumatise you through their decision making. They work under a tick box system and you're treated as a NHI number, that's it. You always get an answer that they have to go back to their team. They don't work holistically and include other supports you have. They don't review you regularly ( medication) or tell you side effects. They don't advocate foe you or look at the impact trauma has had on you and how this impacts on you. They are like robots. The building is disgusting and dirty. I don't really know what they do to help but it isn't a lot.

Was left and “forgotten” in the waiting room for an hour. The women doing my assessment compared her child’s stomach bug to my 15 month long chronic IBS and her best recommendation to suicidal thoughts was to splash cold water on my face.Follow up phone call showed she didn’t talk to my GP or mother like she stated she would and best course of action is to see carry on seeing my GP.Sickening service.

Honestly mental health is super important, I deal with quite a bit of anxiety. And I come here to help my journey to a balanced life, the waiting lists are quite long when waiting for someone, but in need there's lots of other places to call like youthline, crisis team and so much more. But a good place to come when life is a little to much

On behalf of this rating is .Depression and anxiety disorders are not treated with a high standard. I posting on behalf of a friend who used this service and felt worse every time. This friend was given the wrong treatment plan with know thought given.Lacking was support for her environment needs and her rural lifestyle.Which caused her depression anxiety.Because of her I've gone and gained qualifications in mental health level 3. Thanks to my tutor teaching I have some idea with this

Please explain to me via email why my son was refused to see his gp on several occasions when the judge directed his key worker Mariah/Maria to support my son in seeing his gp and physicatrist for a review to lessen his medication that ultimately having adverse effects and harming him.Your London team put a well boy into Henry Bennett mental health Hospital for no good reason. I witnessed what awhina whanau and his father did to my Son.

Some of the workers are lovely but overall this place is pretty horrendous. I’ve been with them on and off for 10 years and they, particularly the psychiatrists, tend to treat you like you’re overreacting about your mental health problems. They assign you lazy, dodgy psychologists that aren’t very well adjusted themselves, and you’re never taken seriously until you’re in the middle of actually committing suicide. The building is disgusting and not taken care of. You are cattle stock to them, they just want to tick you off the list and discharge you asap whether you’re healthy or not. Now that I can afford it I’m paying for proper mental health care, I’d advise the same to anyone who can. I have very little respect for this place.

My experience with my wife was good. It took a while to connect on the back end of a self-referral. The system in Australia is 1000% better, with more funding for mental health. The issue in NZ is drugs & alcohol addiction are taking 90% of the mental health funding. Those situations are avoidable, whereas mental health issues that are unavoidable seem to have almost zero funding.Saying all of that, when my wife had a minor relapse we got access to a good (foreign born) Psychiatrist. Her social worker did establish a rapport, but his time was split across many people, and in the end their needs were more urgent. Now I have to plan ahead to get access. It will take 2 to 3 weeks I've been told to get access to a Psychiatrist. So be it.
