Surprised we were able to get a table for about 15 people without a booking but ended up in the outdoor area. Ordering wasn't difficult and the meals all came around the same time. We even had a few stragglers who were easily accommodated.I had the autobahn schnitzel and it was alright. The gravy that came with it was nice with the chips. Decent pub food.

Good place to dine for dinner. Friendly and helpful staff. Meals were very good, nice size portions. Decor was tasteful. Reasonably priced.

Pizza bases were a quite soft, but our food was super tasty. Great staff and awesome atmosphere making an awesome place to dine out at.

Regulars at Joe's Garage in Christchurch, same menu & quality of service, definitely would recommend getting into the loyalty program. We like what they have done with this spot, and the dual entrance way from George & Fredrick St.Second visit: the steak could have been better, but otherwise a nice visit.

We were looking for a cold drink after a long walk, we searched the nearby places and found this lovely place. The door and decor was very interesting with tools hanging around, lovely atmosphere, good quick service, we ordered a shake and a smoothie which was OK nothing impressive. We will come back to try the food

We came to Joes Garage after it being on of our favourite places in Christchurch however we are thankful this is not our local. Upon ordering we realised that they could not do some of our orders which should have been mentioned at the start (no poached eggs, avocado etc). We also had one ordered placed for Gluten Free (Celiac person) and was given sourdough bread. We checked with the waitress, chef and another staff member who all assured us it was gluten free. I could tell this was not gluten free and had to ask to see the bread for them to realised they had plated the wrong thing. This is extremely dangerous and after being told by 3 different staff members it was gluten free is shocking. After also drinking one of our drinks we realised the glass was dirty, it had grim all over the glass.The service was extremely poor with the waiter having a strong bad body odor also. Safe to say we would never return here when visiting Dunedin and extremely grateful for our amazing service we receive in Christchurch.

Just a really not great first impression maybe. Bacon & eggs were cold and the egg white wasn’t cooked properly, the hollandaise taste a bit funny, and the ‘iced’ mocha wasn’t that chill and had no ice.

Edited to add Android app review: Pretty goddam good. I could not find any reason not to give 5 stars (until later). The food was delicious and well made, staff were attentive and it was good value. Our party of five were all delighted. Will be back again, breakfast is supposed to be good too. Better value than the adjacent Lonestar with a brighter and open environment, the music was not too loud and had good songs. We could see right into the kitchen which is always nice. Clean toilets.App review. To be honest, I have not installed the app, the permissions required are extensive, intrusive and seem to put the user at risk if privacy breach, location tracking and information loss. This is disappointing as my original review for the Joe's Garage experience" was 5 stars. The permissions required by the app have sullied this "experience". I will back for food but I'll keep my data to myself thanks.Edit: Thanks Joe's for the reply. Appreciated. After quick look at your website I cannot find options to enter promotions etc which was my interest. Still impressed with the food and service BTW."

Food was nice, facility's were good and clean. Venue itself was perfect for what we were there for. Service was a bit slow for our liking so four star. Will be back one day, was a great night
