I enjoyed the time spent - sitting and reading a book - I was facing wrong way so didn't see wind farm but I was happy - nice spot

Te Uku Wind Farm Lookout
Dropped by there at dusk when there’s no wind & the blades were in stationary. The wind farm is on the hills opposite to the car park with SH23 between. The view is good but they look “flat” with no obvious “field of depth”. The car park is next to a church & near the Waitomo gas station. Quite easy to miss when driving fast

Alright look out, it's not really that close and kids loose interest straight away. Has a board that explains the turbines etc which is quite cool.

The good news is that it does what it says it will. There's a clear view of the wind farm in good weather, plenty of easily accessible parking, and even an informative sign to tell you about the wind turbines and farm. So far, so good. But that's ALL there is. No seats or tables, no toilets or other comfort facilities, and it's right beside the main road so it's extremely noisy as well. This ain't a good picnic spot, and honestly you're better going another 100m up the road to the shop beside the Te Uku school if you want literally anything other than a view of the wind farm.

Good place to stopover for a short break when driving towards/from Bridal Veil Falls on State Highway 23. Large parking, next to the Surfside Church, no facility. Beautiful view of the Wind Farm over the landscape at far.

If you are coming especially to see this windmill at this location I will not recommend unless you want to kill your time or have lots of free fuel or already in reglan and passing by from this point.Nothing you can see other then normal windmills which are rotating on top of hill.YouTube view will be much convenient then coming here and see it.It’s quick parking on the road so follow the signs and indicate in advance to prepare going left in parking from the main road.
