Roxy Cinema - movie times & tickets | The Roxy Cinema is a beautifully designed, art deco multi-arts venue, cinema theatre, cafe, restaurant, and events space, located in Miramar, at the epicenter of Wellington's film industry. A perfect venue for film premieres, weddings, conferences, parties and corporate bookings - or simply a great night out at the movies - we have an experienced events team onsite, as well as an award winning restaurant and bar team. Independently owned by Oscar winning Lord Of The Rings editor Jamie Selkirk, Weta Workshop founder Tania Rodger, restauranteur Valentina Dias and award winning mixologist Ray Letoa. Aesthetically this place is very appealing, great interior decor. The service is below average, staff are quite simple. Food is horrible, popcorn is ALWAYS stale and just sits there unheated. I got served a hotdog submerged in mustard (could not even see sausage) with a hard dry bun lol wish I took a photo. Food needs an upgrade and staff need to wake up lol

Lovely venue. Their popcorn is weirdly small and rarely fresh which is a disappointment. I like a good bucket. But the rest of their food selection is great. And they are the rare cinema who show obscure and cult films. They're loyalty program is also broken which is a disincentive.

I was out wheeling, down to see the Harbour and a notice on Roxy notices caught my eye. It advertises and supports local events, have awesome atmosphere about it, art deco in design, or correct me if not quite right word. The hub of Miramar with a Cafe,bar,movies,lounge chairs, or areas to sit,eat,drink (non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages )coffee,tea etc is served with fine food/Cafe style snacks. Movies to go too or just hang out with your friends or by yourself, cause you will never feel alone. Most are very friendly.

Love it. Back row or front row sets are fine because of the size of these cinemas. Looking forward to trying out dinner and a movie at the same time!

Gorgeous building, super comfy&spacious seating, really great details in the decor inside. Family of 4 for just under $40, they also do cheaper tickets on a Tuesday and have a film club too. Fair bit of parking very close by. There's numerous options for food, some vegetarian and gluten free though didn't spot any vegan. Seems to get fairly busy so maybe book online in advance for a new release

Wonderful and stylish cinema, great ambience from the moment you step inside, from the cashier, cafe and bar upstairs to the actual cinema itself. Just outstanding. Would have to be one of the very best theatres I've ever been to.
