Nikau Cave & Cafe
We stopped here for lunch after doing their waterfall bush walk. The cafe is lovely with a beautiful view of the paddocks and really friendly staff. They have a good selection on their menu and they make amazing hot chocolate and pizza.

Such a gem. We hit awful traffic so called ahead - the staff accommodated us by preparing our (6!) pizzas in advance, staying open late just for us. Great food (pizza & carrot cake were so yum); super impressive beer list for a cafe in the woods; but the best part was the staff. They were sooooo nice despite how late we were, and even put a candle in the cake as it was our friend’s birthday. I’ll be back to check out the caves and visit the cafe again!

I cannot say enough good things about the caving experience I had recently, all thanks to an absolutely fantastic guide Philip! Their expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment to safety made it an exceptional journey. Crawling through cold water, we discovered breathtaking formations and were mesmerised by the glow worms illuminating the cave. It was a truly magical experience! Don't miss out on this incredible adventure and be sure to make time to visit their delightful cafe. Highly recommended for an unforgettable caving experience!

A great little cafe & adventure base for cave tours of the beaten track in a stunningly beautiful location. The staff are awesomely friendly & inviting with plenty of Kiwi cheek & humour. Their food & treats that are all made on site are awesome. We rode out on our motorbikes as there are some wonderful roads with beautiful vistas on the way to the café, which add to the addige, it's not (just) the destination

This is a great place for a destination drive or motorcycle adventure. Its a bit out of the way but well worth the visit.Home made food and great coffee but its not fast food so be prepared to relax in the wonderful surroundings and enjoy a beer while your food is being prepared.

Nikau Cave & Cafe
Just happened upon Nikau cave & cafe today on a drive out of Auckland. Ended up on the Cave walk even though we only stopped for a brew. Fantastic cafe with big pots of tea and coffee, nice food and lovely people who own it. We had Phillip as our guide on the cave walk who owns the place and he was so lovely and friendly. Highly recommend this hidden gem. Will be back at some point to just to relax in the calming surroundings and enjoy a lovely pot of tea

Nikau Cave & Cafe
Came for a caving tour and had the best experience! The tour involves a bit of a hike and then walking through a creek in the cave, including some parts that are quite narrow and a section that requires crawling on your belly. The cave was beautiful, our tour guide Ethel was lovely, and the glow worms are stunning! Be sure to grab a coffee or food from the cafe and check out the nearby waterfall hike while you’re here.

Such a great spot. Well worth the drive out there for both the cafe and the cave. Do bring a change of clothes and shoes for the cave as you do get a little wet. Especially your feet!There is also a very nice loop walk just a couple of minutes drive from the cafe. You'll be treated to a view of a stunning waterfall that you can walk under.
