Lousy customer service...As we do not live in Hokitika full time, I contacted Jeff Evans around 2-3 weeks before I needed an appointment. The sales manager Courtney responded by sending me an account form which I filled out and sent back with another request for a booking. Still nothing...The week of our visit to our property we called in to the office on Tuesday (the girl on the front desk was very helpful) and asked again to set up an appointment. Courtney then called me back to arrange an appointment on Friday, the last day of our visit, at 1pm.1pm Friday came and went with no visit from Jeff Evans, or even an apology phone call... Needless to say I won't be chasing them for another appointment after this seriously disappointing service...

Unreasonably expensive and didn't even fix the minor problem we had (blocked drain). We ended up driving to Mitre10 to buy the right tool to fix the problem successfully ourselves. We know who not to call in the future.

While the plumbers that came around were very friendly they could not resolve the issue and we are now hit with a $950 bill. One plumber came round the first time to try fix our diesel heater but didn't have the correct injector so ended up putting the old injector back in. Then they came back with two plumbers and we had a power cut so they were unable to try and fix it again. I questioned the bill as it says 8.3 Hours we are being charged but I counted 3 hours as I was here the whole tim waiting to hear back. Wouldn't recommend usingAfter having a chat Jeff Evans plumbing have come to the party and come up with a fair deal (Have changed review to 3 stars)

I used Jeff Evans plumbing on two occasions and was happy with the work done. I can’t comment on the price as I have no comparison. I asked them to call and give advice on an overflowing septic tank. A plumber called at the end of the day working elsewhere and indeed all he did was have a look. He was there for no more than 45 minutes ,some of that spent in general chat. He said he would send a schedule of the order things would be done. This did not materialise. So I was charged $263.93 for my 1/2 hour chat with the Plumber. (This did not even result in a quote, that was to be another job). I sent 2 emails questioning the ridiculous amount I was chargedand received no reply or acknowledgment ..Beware!Note: I paid this bill to avoid any credit problems. I have now heard from the office of Jeff Evans and they have refunded me. Thank you.

When approached with a minor problem caused by taking a short cut heis out, in a meeting but will call back. Never happens. Invisible Jeff Evans.

My advice would be to ensure they give you a quote before they do anything...and make it clear that is what you want...as much as I would love to say that they were great, our experience with them was not as they carried out work without contacting us at over $500 (we were not home but we booked them two months in advance for them to come and confirm our water system looked okay as we were unfamiliar with the set up for the water tank.) They worked on the septic tank which may or may not have needed doing (another septic tank person said it was fine) and when they did get back to us they added a further charge of over $100 as they wanted to come out to check something (which they were unable to find).We did manage to speak to the Boss, who said that there must have been a mix up and we do not go looking for work" but in this instance they did (in hindsight twice) In their defence they offered a small discount (the cost of transportation of a worker from what we can tell)
